Can somebody tell me a little more about these two attractions? You wait in line then get to visit with the princesses (PFF) and Tinkerbelle & friends? This is pretty much just a photo op or is there some kind of show?

Looks like PFF consistently has a long wait. Do you guys think its worth it? I have two (4 and 5) girls who loooove their princesses!! :cheer2: Which princess are here?

We're going to be here for an early MM. Should we hit PFF right after some rides?

Any other thoughts on these?

Thanks! :teeth:

Yes, at both you do wait in a line just to meet a couple princesses or fairies. You get maybe 3 or 4 of each character at each location and it's a quick photo op and they'll talk to the kids for a minute or so. No show or anything.

PFF and Pixie Hollow both get very long lines starting late morning and continuing until late at night. If you have 2 girls that love princesses, then I absolutely recommend it. It's the best place at DLR for princesses. The princesses change throughout the day. I'm pretty sure Ariel, Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Pocahontas, Tiana, have been spotted there (I'm sure I'm forgetting some), so you'll probably get 3 out of what I mentioned.

Both PFF and PH open an hour after regular park opening. So if you do MM, PFF and PH would open 2 hours after you enter the park. I would recommend lining up at one of them 30 minutes or so before they open. Then maybe visit the other on another day or hopefully the line is short at the other one. Hopefully you won't be waiting for a long time for a couple of short meet and greets.

Thanks for this; we are "princess crazy" here too, so I was wondering how to tackle these. Just in case, we have also made reservations at Ariel's Grotto for the princess character meal, just to be safe - you may want to check that out. Hearts would be broken here if princesses were missed, but lines are not well tolerated either :cutie:.

Just so you know the PFF is going back to royal coronation and story telling in the summer months. This was from a mouseplanet newsfeed about a month ago :goodvibes

I would really consider doing an Ariel's meal over PFF if you can swing it... you'll see 5 princesses for sure, instead of the maybe 3 at PFF and not have to wait in line an hour or more!

We did PFF in 2008 then booked Ariel's in 2009 just so we could skip the line ups. You might want to consider this as well. As the PP said, they are bringing back the Coronation Ceremony and Princess Storytelling so you might want to stop by the PFF to check this out -- the storytime was really sweet.

Another FYI, if you have the time and money then check out the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in FL. We did it for our oldest princess fan and she LOVED it. Info can be found here: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...etail?name=BibbidiBobbidiBoutiqueShoppingPage

It's three princesses, yes. I've also seen Belle, Mulan and Princess Minnie.

We saw the Fairy Godmother there a few years back. Does she hang out there? or maybe somewhere else in the park?

I went with my friend to meet the fairies in Pixie Hollow in January. We've been to the one in WDW and I was very disappointed in the one in CA. I wanted to check it out because we are planning a visit there with our kids this summer. There were only 2 fairies and it was VERY quick. There was nothing "magical" about it. At WDW, they CM magically "shrinks" you so that you can enter the tiny world of Pixie Hollow, each fairy spent about 5 minutes or more with our girls, talking to them and finding out about them. The girls loved it and it was a really fun experience.

We've also done the Ariel lunch--and THAT was wonderful. I would highly recommend it. The food was good and the princesses spent time with all of our kids. I have great photos from that visit.

We saw Mulan in California Adventure hanging out by the Golden Vine Winery. There was no line to see her (shortly after park opening) and she was a lot of fun--doing morning warm-up exercises and stretches. My friend took some really fun photos of me doing warm ups with her.

We have seen the Fairy Godmother a couple of times hanging out near the castle on the side closer to Main Street.

What is the royal coronation? So there won't be any princess meet and greets for photos or autographs?

There will still be the Meet n Greet for photos and autographs. The coronation ceremony was cancelled in 2009 but is supposed to be brought back. It is a sort of stage show that teaches girls how to behave like a "royal princess" and boys learn how to be like "princes". They do a "may pole" type thing at the end. Kind of cute and at least makes it more of a "sight to see" than just a meet n greet.

Would a two year old like this? I have to listen to my two year old tell me every morning that she's going to meet the princesses. I was just thinking we would see them and take pictures with them like at WDW.

I definitely recommend Ariel's Grotto...we did that our first night and it was so nice to have 5 of the Princesses met and not have to stress about trying to find them later. We were there last July and the lines for PFF were always at least an hour.

We did do Pixie Hollow one morning...it did open about 15 min early so we literally walked in when we got there early to line up. We met Silvermist and Tink and Tink did explain to my girls how they shrunk to Pixie size when they walked it. She was very talkative and my girls LOVED her!

I think your 2 year old would enjoy it. She might be a little young to follow along with what they are actually saying/explaining. Also, it might be changed since I saw it in 2008. Then I had 4 yr old and 18 mos old girls and the 18 mos old was a little unsure of what was going on. I was able to be down on the floor with her and it made it much better.

Again, I would recommend Ariel's Grotto for princess fans. Great way to skip the PFF lineups and see 5 princesses. Just a note, if you decide to do both the PFF and Ariel's Grotto there is a good chance that the princesses will "look" different (they aren't always the same person and can look quite different even in costume).

PH is okay. You can wait awhile just to see 2 faires (one is always Tink). The first time we did it when we got to Tink's location she was on break. We had to wait for her to come back. When she did she barely spent 30 sec. with the kids. I had to ask her to pose for a quick photo.

The next time we went, it was a little better. Tink actually spoke a few words.

Be ready with your camera and autograph books. They do tend to rush you due to the long line.

When the park isn't too crowded, the line isn't so bad.:goodvibes

They do have PP photographer (or 2) there to snap a pix or 2.

Here's a picture where two of the fairies were getting ready to switch off. Fawn was getting ready to run off when I asked her if we could get a quick pix.

It is so funny because I always worried about that when my oldest was around 4-5. I thought for sure she would start asking questions about why they were "different" looking than the day before, etc. She is 8 now and she still has never asked. I probably won't be so lucky with my 3 year old. :goodvibes

We had that happen too, one Tink barely said anything to DD and another time when DD had the Encyclopedia of Disney Characters for her to sign, Tink and Terrance must have spent 5 + minutes talking to DD about their pages and flipping through the book. :goodvibes

My issue with Ariel's Grotto is that the menu looks very fancy. My 2 year old and I are picky eaters. I don't know if I want to pay all that money for the two of us to eat not much. Although breakfast does look better than lunch, but my dd doesn't eat eggs. Do they have the mickey waffles like O'hanas does at WDW? It's also family style.

The waffle I got was not mickey shaped it was square, but at that point I was stuffed. Breakfast was good IMO. The thing I like about it is that you don't have to get up and get your food.

OK.... now that it seems we're changing our park dates and touring plan for the umpteenth time........... new question:

I had planned to hit PFF one morning right after opening. Now I'm thinking my daughter and I might slip into the parks right after checking in, see Aladdin (since it won't show on our newly revised park days....) and run over to DL to do PFF.

1) How late is PFF open?

2) Is the line going to be tons worse around dinner time than it would be early in the day?

3) I was thinking some of the princess "stars" (Belle, Aurora, Cinderella) were more likely first thing. Will the princess selection likely be much different later in the day?
