I am personally beyond excited for this!!! Maybe its because I am a major Pixar fan?

Either way I can't wait

I am glad that they will be using the same technology they did for the Disneyland Forever fireworks from the 60th celebration!

Where did everyone hear that Pixar Pier is an overlay? The announcement at D23 definitely implied that it's a permanent change. The concept art also showed that the Fun Wheel will be redesigned with Luxo Jr. and the Pixar ball replacing the Mickey face.

What do you guys think about how this will affect crowds? Will it bring lots more locals into the parks at the end of April?

We were considering taking our first trip there end of April...but now I'm wondering if early March might be better!

Pixar Fest is limited time. The pier is not.

Mid March - Mid June can be very busy with locals using APs and other travelers. So, yes, it can be more crowded at the end of April, but I'd really look at the school breaks calendar and see when most schools are having spring break. Spring break weeks have been very busy and crowded the past couple years. However, this year, they have opened up a lot of the closed areas (the railroad, Tom Sawyer Island, the walkway from Fronteirland to Fantasyland). People should be more spread out this time.

Has anyone heard rumors about when this will end? We booked in Feb after being there in early Dec, April is too soon to go back again.

My guess is the end of summer which is usually around Labor Day.
