Day 3: 13th June
Up at 8:00 (obviously slacking today!) and after another yummy breakfast and giving Heather her birthday present and card we arrived at the Studios for half an hour before opening as we wanted to ride the Crush Coaster which had had a consistently hour plus queue so far and no fastpass. It seems the rest of the people waiting all had exactly the same idea and we ended up waiting half an hour, could have been worse though! The queue barriers were full within a few minutes, craziness! It was an awesome ride (dude) and i'm really glad we went on it.
Wandered the Studios for a bit and found some photo ops:
Find me!
I'm such a nice big sister
I checked behind the door because i'm a nerd..
Tower of Terror is coming along nicely!
We then headed back to Disneyland Park as we'd kind of exhausted what we wanted to do in the Studios and got a fastpass for Buzz. Next was Pirates (yes again..!) and second gos on Indy and Space Mountain before our fastpass time came around. Ate at Pizza Planet for lunch again: Salmon salad for me (gross!) and chips for Heather. Afterwards I got an ice-cream from Fantasia Gelati, to take the taste of that yucky salad away, much better!
Next we decided to try and get tickets for the next Lion King show which was a bit disorganised (no indication of where to go to get them, we thought it was near the stage somewhere and only found out different after overhearing someone else ask!) but we got there in the end and by then it was nearly time for the parade. I LOVED this, probably my favourite Disney parade so far!
My favourite float, so cool!
I added some more parade pics to the next post
After some yummy treats from a shop on Main Street (love the fudge they sell!) we headed back to the Lion King stage and it was soon showtime. Another fantastic show, worth the palava with the tickets for sure.
We wanted some time to chill and change before our dinner ADR so we headed back to the hotel (buying the 15 year CD on the way out, I like to buy a park music CD every trip) It was a little bittersweet as we knew this was our last full day and we'd have no time to return to the parks tomorrow (early flight!)
It was soon time for our Cafe Mickey dinner at 7:00pm and we were seated quickly. I made sure to emphasise that it was Heather's birthday and we had a cake booked! Food wasn't bad, we both had Pinnochio Pasta which was a bit overly creamy but we knew we could fill up on cake so it didn't matter too much and we also had a couple of non-alcoholic cocktails, very nice! (neither of us are big drinkers so we didn't bother with alcohol) Some characters came with Heather's cake which was a nice touch:
Characters we saw: Smee, Mickey, Gepetto, Tigger, Hook, Pluto and the Genie though not all of them came to our table. Overall it was a fun birthday meal but I can't help thinking Cafe Mickey doesn't cope well with crowds as we saw several children who only had 1 or 2 characters come to their table if that and other famillies whom the characters spent ages with. Quite unfair really and made for some disappointed children. Not sure i'd go there again as there may be better character interaction at one of the other meals.
After our meal we did some shopping to spend the rest of our money and headed back to the hotel to pack as we had an early airport shuttle the next morning.
Purchases today: 7 pins, T-shirt, Minnie plate and bowl.
Final Thoughts
I haven't written a trippie for day 4 as it was just a boring travel day with no parks and also something big happened that could have ruined the whole holiday so i'd rather remember the trip for the good memories rather than the bad ones. Overall we had a really good time and it was an excellent way to celebrate my sister's birthday. I'm not sure when i'll go to Disneyland Paris again (got a few other places I want to visit before I think of returning) but i'm glad we went for the 15th anniversary year as the extra attractions were a real bonus.
Hope you didn't find my trippie too boring, it's my first one so hopefully i'm getting the hang of it now and can write a really good one for WDW!
