Has anyone gone to the Pirates Dinner in Buena, is it good and worth it? We will be staying at Carousel Inn and Suites and we thought maybe one night for my sons 5th birthday taking him to this show....he LOVES pirates!pirate: If so how do you go about transportation up there, has anyone done this before?

I have been to it a couple of times. I think your son will love it if he likes pirates! It is arena seating and the show is in the middle. The food is so-so, you are really paying for the show. I have no idea on transportation, I am local. We have buses.

Yes, we loved it! We liked it better than MT. :) My girls and DBF participated in the show but I did not. The food was fine, nothing spectacular but you could chose what to eat and you could see it. lol The show was fun. We drive from home so we just drove to the show, sorry I can't help with transportation.

I will try and research it...we will not have a car so cab will be are best bet (hmmm just thought about a boaster seat??). How long is the show?

My husband and I have gone a few times and are never disappointed. If you look around online, you can usually find a buy 1 get 1 free tickets.

Count me in as another fan of the Pirates Dinner Adventure show! I took my brother there for his birthday last September. Definitely use a coupon or promo code--they have a Facebook page and post special offers on there too. The show itself is less than 2 hours, but they advise you to get there really early for pre-show drinks, appetizers and upsell opportunities (buy toy swords, flags, banners, photos, etc.). Overall, it was a fun experience and I would do it again!

Found out through Miceage that ART has added two new routes as of April 4. One of the new routes goes to Pirates Dinner Adventure--and also stops at Knott's Berry Farm, among other destinations in the Buena Park area. An ART 1-day pass is $4, so OCTA is slightly cheaper and will run more often. But with ART, you won't have to worry about bus transfers. It's another option for the tourist market for sure.

My husband and another couple joined us for this show in 2010 - it was AWESOME. We loved the energy of it all and it was so much fun. We got the upgraded seats and were very happy with everything. The food was delicious too ! All ages were there and they really get the kids involved too ! Sign up for their website to get special offers as well. They do a little pre show that I volunteered my husband for , it was fun. They also had some fun with me. So while everyone was being seated I decided I wanted another drink. I was slightly tipsy but made it back to the bar. The cast members were there with their "prisoner" ina cage and I had forgotten which door I came through so the pirate showed me the door..i stepped outside into the sprinkling rain LOL. He was cute so I just smirked and laughed. It was awesome..i'll never forget him telling me "Never trust a pirate". :rotfl:

I'm going to be posting this again and again ... it appears. :rolleyes1

Does ART has a new route to Buena Park? YES

Is it the best way to get to Buena Park attractions from DLR?
Unless you're a golfing conventioneer*, the answer is NO.

The $1 round-trip difference in fare is not important. Once an hour vs. an average of twice an hour is more important. In my opinion, spending about 20 extra minutes each way on a bus is most important.

See maps, satellite photos, and links here for more information that should convince you to take Metro 460.

*seriously - see stops

Great to see such positive reviews! We just went to Medieval Times two months ago, but this show sounds like even more fun.
My DH is virulently against the idea of spending the $280 it would cost our party of six (including a free "lap child" under 3) for dessert seating at F! He has been building a list of other things he'd rather do in Orange County for that amount or less, like eat at Roy's Hawaiian in the Anaheim Garden Walk with plenty of wine, and now I think I'll be able to convince him that this show is a great option to put on the list. :thumbsup2
