Pirates of the carribean game

To earn the boat I am sooo ANGRY!! whenever i play that game an octopus comes out of no where and kills me and i dont know what to do! I play and play and play but just on the 3rd i go at full spead and i try to get awway but it catches me does anyone have any advice?????

A. It's called the KRAKEN, not an OCTOPUS.

B. It takes 7 shots to take down the Kraken, temporarily. What you want to do, is unload 5 cannon balls into the Kraken, then hit one of the Skull Rocks. At this point, you unload the two balls into the Kraken, if AND ONLY IF you can't control your ship fast enough prior to the Kraken overtaking you. Then you make your way to the next skull rock, and once the Kraken appears, rinse and repeat.

C. Don't whine about it: it's a hard game. A lot of folks have problems with it, even if they DO know the strategy behind it.

Im not that great on the Kraken Level either but I know a few little hints
- Shoot the Tentacles(or the Kraken in General)
- Get it stuck by turning near an object large enough to get it stuck around (use sand banks)
- No sound helps(less distracting)
- Keep in mind it is hard for him to over take you so stay in front of him if you can
- Kraken tend to come up in about the same places so play and find those places so you can get a route

It gets stuck, it sinks down, then comes up right under you.

- Keep in mind it is hard for him to over take you so stay in front of him if you can
This can result in the Kraken getting you when you are defenseless after ramming a Skull Rock. Also, the Kraken is usually faster than Speed 2. You need to be Speed 3 if you want to COMPLETELY outrun him. However, you don't want to outrun him, as he'll go under and come up right under you.

Well I dont' know if the krakken gets stuck (never has for me) but I've beaten the games a couple of times before... though my best trick to avoid the krakken is to run and shoot (or use the down key to go backwards through and island).
