I know that POTC is fixing to close for refurb in the next few months, but I keep seeing it is temporarily closed on the attraction app. We are heading to Disney in 27 days and was hoping to get to ride it...now I'm wondering if it's going to happen:( Does anybody know what's going on with this ride?

EasyWDW said that it's closing beginning in May, so assuming they're right, you should be fine!

Anyone know how long its going to be closed? Whens the open back up date?

I don't know what is going on with it but it was down when we went by yesterday afternoon. The CM had no idea when it would come back up (I overhead another CM telling someone it had been down for over an hour)

Ahh, nooooo! I read June and I really hope that's right. I have a big plan for a pirate day with the kids the day we arrive in May and if we can't ride it's going to put quite a damper on it.

It's been very broken since Summer, if not earlier. I waited in the FP+ line for over 45 minutes. Once we finally got on, it stopped multiple times during the ride.

Is anyone getting additional FP+ when it goes down?

We tried riding it a few times yesterday and it was down all afternoon. We never got to ride it. If you have a FP there are 6 or so rides you can use the FP on but we had ridden them all already.

Oh NO!!! One of me and the kiddos faves! Hope for a early reopen date, like before June 15th..... following...

If you go to the WDW site and query MK attractions for your dates of travel, it will have the refurbishments noted at the bottom of the page. I am going June 5th and out of curiosity I kept backing up my dates to see when POTC shows unavailable and it was mid May

I hope they fix a lot about it... We rode it once a handicap lady was trying to exit, her daughter helping her, the next boat completely bumped her boat and the daughter fell overboard and then a boat went right over her! Scariest thing I've ever seen at WDW! She was ok a bit shaken up, a bunch of men in suits(literally) emerged from the "tunnels", we were one boat behind the bumper boat, and had to sit there for a LONG time waiting to deboard the boat... They need to fix that!

According to Disney's website the referb is starting May 11th. That is the day we go home so we will make it just in time to see the ride in it's worst state:scared:
