Pirates of the Caribbean ride wet?

I read that there were changes made in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride that made you get wet, even soaked, on that little hill. Is that still the case, or have they adjusted it back so that you do not get wet or too wet? Thanks!

I've gotten wet on the ride before, but it's been, like, a few drops of water on my legs. That's about it.

They've become better at loading the boat and evening out the weight so it's not front heavy but sometimes it's mostly adults or heavier riders and that's when you'll most likely get wet, especially sitting in the front half of the boat. Some people do come out soaked. Like just road kali and got the wave at the bottom of the hill soaked.

Plan on you might get wet and watch your feet when getting in, sometimes the boats have water in them before you even start and your bag or feet are soaked right away.

If we're taking pictures, only the samsung phone we have that is waterproof comes out.

We rode it this January and wore ponchos (it was really cold out), but we never got wet at all. YMMV. From reading other posts on the subject, it seems to be a combination of how packed the boat is, along with where the heaviest people on the boat are sitting. In other words, it's the luck of the draw whether you get wet or not. I recommend being prepared for it, just in case.

Last time I went, our feet were covered in about four inches of water in the front row. Other people report not getting a drop. The results just really seem to vary. I would recommend that you plan on not setting a bag or electronics down on the floor just in case.

If the people in the front are heavier than those in the back, then the first row or two might get wet. DH and I rode alone in the front during emh, and it was like Splash Mountain. Never got a drop on the back half of a full boat.

You can actually request back rows for your party. The CMs are very accommodating if you ask to wait for back rows.

Yep, got SOAKED on this ride. We were 3 adults sitting on the front row and it was like a tidal wave came over the boat when we went down the hill. It was so bad I had to go to the bathroom afterwards and try to wring out my shorts and underwear!! Needless to say I will NEVER sit in the front row again.

Every time I rode Pirates in 2014, I either got moderately wet or soaked. We were fine with it, but it was just unexpected the first time.
