Pirates of The Caribbean - Re-Opening on Thursday, March 16th?

We're planning to visit both DL and DCA on March 15, 16 and 17th with a hopper pass.

The touring plan website has the Pirates of the Caribbean ride re-opening on March 16th - and we don't want to miss this ride!

How accurate do you think that opening date would be (I suspect these dates could be estimates, and often change due to issues with the rides after refurbishment)? If it does in face re-open on the documented date, will the ride be nuts on that day - or maybe not that busy as some people may think it's still closed and not bother? Will the ride likely break down or be unreliable on the day it re-opens?

It will likely be open on the 16th, if not earlier. The 18th is the 50th anniversary, so there will certainly be special merchandise (and perhaps some special events).

I'm pretty sure they'll be shooting to meet the 16th deadline.

The 18th is the 50th Anniversary of the Grand Opening, but the 16th is when the ride opened to the public (soft open) in 1967.
