Pirates of the Caribbean in Florida is going down May of next year. This is not a rumor. It is information given by Guest relations. It will be down for at least a couple of months.
Do you know how long it will be closed for? Is this refurb going to be similar to the refurb they're doing in Disneyland (ie. incorporating Capt. Sparrow into the ride)?
i'de be happy if they simply increased it to include all of the current aspects that disney land's offers. we always feel short changed by the wdw version-it just does'nt compare to the california attraction.
Interesting....every once in a while you come to the DIS and post about POTC. You even told me to PMl you and then you'd PM me back explaining your interest. Still waiting.

I read that it would be next to impossible. The way the ride is laid out it would be extremely difficult to lengthen and you can forget the longer thrill drop that DL has. The high water table in Florida would not permit it. The entire ride would have to be raised first. I wish they could. I love the DL version.
This is a mixed blessing for me... For one I would LOVE to see a Jack Sparrow figure in the ride. However, we are going the first week of May, so I HOPE they do this after our vacation.
