Hi All

Just seen the Pirates closure for a few days, it happens to be the day we arrive the 27/7 (7/27 for all our American viewers). Reopening on 30/7, are these dates pretty accurate, we would all be gutted if it was shut for our hols. I am guessing that it is just a small refurb or repair?

76 days today we will be inside the world, arrive at Saturday 27/7 for 3 weeks, hopefully arriving in the US around the 20th for a few days mooching round the Keys too. The excitement is building in our house, although Courtney, our eldest best friend cant come this year, she is gutted and we will miss her terribly, but we doing Route 66 next year for 5 weeks, and she saving frantically for that.

Finally, my Dad finished his treatment for prostrate cancer yesterday at the QE in Birmingham, 80 days back and forth. Its gone very very well and he is looking forward to his hols. Anyways up, we went to see Eric Clapton last night (for my Dads 70th in Feb) at the NEC Arena. Absolutely incredible. The man is a legend.

All have a great day

Steve

Sorry I don't have the answer to your Pirates question (although I feel your disappointment as I have just seen that Typhoon Lagoon is shut the whole of our trip, gutting the kids will be missing my fave water park)

Fab news about your Dad, hope he is feeling as ok as he can be.

Oddly enough every time someone mentions Eric Clapton it reminds me of my first Disney Trip as a child! Everytime we turned on the radio in the car over there they were playing tears in heaven. I always find it strange that such a sad song has the opposite effect on me it reminds me of our fab Disney Holiday :goodvibes

He was brilliant, the whole band was.

I know what you mean about Tears In Heaven incredible song, esp as you know why he wrote it.

We have been lucky to be fair with closures in the past, not really missed much. When is Typhoon Lagoon closed? Hopefully not in the summer????

Steve

Typhoon lagoon closed the whole of November. Its just typical that the water park we prefer is gonna be closed.

That's a bit of a bugger aint it. It is my fave water park to be honest too.

But, you are getting to stay in Art of Animation, we visited last year to eat and have a stroll round (we stayed in the cabins) and wanted to stay there this year, but it was just too much extra, as we wanted to do a week in the Fl Keys too.

If you haven't been to the Art of Animation, it is a treat, it is stunning

True. I cant wait to get there! It does look totally awesome. Cant wait to see the kids faces when we get there!

It's closed all this week too, annoying as we went to blizzard beach first because we didn't know it was going to be closed, and now we won't get to go :(

Not gone on Pirates of the Caribbean yet either because the ride was down when we went to ride it

The minor rehabs are usually very accurate in length but they do sometimes move the dates. So POTC should be open for part of your trip :thumbsup2

As for the water parks they close every year for 3 months over the winter. Alternating which one closes first.
