MacGyver always had duct tape to build stuff with as well.

As a note, another useful way a car can be of assistance when trying to open a non-twist beer bottle is to gently place the lip of the beer cap on the hinge and with a sharp hit downward and voila!

You now have a $30K beer opener. Works every time.
