Pirates of Caribbean?

Our first day at Disney will be a Sunday that easy wow does not recommend for visiting MK. But, Pirates of Caribbean will closed after that. Should we just go to MK that day even though it is a busy day or should we just skip out on Pirates and go to AK which is recommended for that day?

Totally your call, but you could go to MK at rope drop and hit a few rides starting with Pirates. You can alwats head to AK late morning.

If you have already rode it before, I would skip it and go to AK. Or even if you haven't rode it I would skip it, a less crowded park will be more enjoyable.

My kids are 8,8,9 and they have never rode it. First time to disney since they were toddlers. I do not have hopper passes. Wonder if I should upgrade??

MK isn't recommended any day we are there but we are still going twice! If you love POTC I would go and do that first, twice!

Are you talking about Sunday the 27th? We are hopping over to MK to ride pirates and see the MSEP (they aren't having it on the 29th and 30th, which are our 2 main MK days) after we spend the day at Animal Kingdom. That's our solution to not being able to ride pirates on our MK days

For what it's worth, Touring Plans has both MK and AK as a 5 that day. We'll be there that same week which should be past most of the Spring Breakers so I'm hoping none of the parks are crazy busy.

Def making a point of hitting POTC before it closes for the refurb.

Ypu have to decide for yourself if going on POTC is worth being in a park that will be crowded - or at least not recommended.

Personally i wouldn't think a trip to WDW is complete without POTC, but thats just me.

Is it an EMH day at MK? That puts a park on the "not recommended" list. Personally, we like doing morning EMHs, so we wouldn't let that scare us away if it was our only chance to ride PotC (assuming you are staying onsite and will actually make it to the park that early).

Sure hope it reopens on time -- and without any lingering glitches. We'll be at Disney May 3 to 9 and it seems as if one of our favorites is always down......I know it's the luck of the draw, but sometimes I think we're jinxed.
Already we know that the People Mover will be down.

I was literally having the same debate in my head. Our trip is April 26-May 2 and I had planned on our park days being
April 27 - HS
April 28 - EP
April 29 - AK
April 30 - MK
May 1 - Rest/Pool/Exploring day

I LOVE PotC but I think I'd rather have a chance at lower crowds

Well, it is your vacation so, it is you choice, but I love pirates of the Caribbean, and I think that MK is much better than AK. Just try to weigh out the possibility's.

I haven't read thru Josh's reasons why it's not recommended that day. Have you? It might help your decision.
