Well, my journey began last Friday, when I was asked whether or not I wanted to go to Disneyland for my 18th Birthday. Being the nutter that I am, I absolutely said yes.

After my Birthday last Thursday, I came into an AWESOME amount of money. It was as if I suddenly had a Genie with which I can ask for anything my heart desired while in the parks.

Day 1

So, my dad and I fly down Saturday morning (7:45 flight out of San Jose, makes for a great/short flight). We touch down into Orange County, and get off the plane. To my horror, I see gaggles of people. To be more specific: there was a Cheerleading Competition/Conference in California Adventure.

Now, 18 year old male + cheerleading competition + Disneyland. The math sounds good on paper...

BUT IT WAS A PRE-TEEN THING! YUCK! I see all these Seventh graders prancing around in short-shorts. Despicable really... Do their parents even care what their daughters look like? Thus, the wording Prostitots comes into play... Alas, I digress... The Media's Corruption of our Youth is another topic for another day.

Due to the fact that we had carry-on only (which I would later regret), we immediately got into a cab and were off.

We arrived at the Grand Californian at around 9:30ish. We start to wait in the huge line for room registration, when a Cast Member called out "Emery! Is there an Emery in this line?"

Thank God... the Concierge have found us in this group of plebeians. It was then that I remembered that we would be staying at the Radisson Maingate in April. :(

We were rushed up to the Concierge floor where we were given our room keys, my father's two-day park hopper, and my Premium AP certificate.

We rushed out to the parks immediately (Queue #13 became our best friend). We started by getting my AP and my picture, then rushed out to Space Mountain to fastpass it. Then, we rode our first ride of 2007: Big Thunder Mountain. Ahhh, it was better than I remembered it.

We then went off to Pirates of the Caribbean. Line wasn't too bad. We wondered whether or not we could try to get fastpass for Indiana Jones, while we waited. So I got out of line to go find Adventureland.

I decided to go through New Orleans and get to Adventureland that way (I stopped along the way to grab some VMK Pirate Pin Packs). It was then that I realized that I was completely lost in the catacombs of New Orleans Square. I suddenly recalled that Adventureland was the other way. Drat... :rotfl2:

So, I start walking to Adventureland and pass Pirates. People are... walking out of the entrance? En masse? This can't be good.

Same old Pirates... :lmao:

So, my dad and I (Pirate-less) go to Advenureland for Indiana Jones. Line was... eh... but it wasn't actually that bad (lines got worse).

I got to drive. ;) I also got a picture of me driving, so I'll post that up sometime tomorrow.

We then went to Space Mountain to redeem our FastPass. The line was HUGE. And we skipped it. ;) This was the second time we felt like we were getting away with something (first time was Entrance Line #13).

Rockin' Space Mountain is FUN. Great addition, blah blah, everyone's already said it before, so I'll move on.

We then head over to California Adventure to redeem our Screamin' fastpass (don't ask, we got it somewhere before Space). Do Screamin', and learn about Single Rider. :hyper:

We'll do it later, we say.

We then hit Tower of Terror. Even with Fastpass (again, I still don't remember when we got these darned things...), the queue was horrible. The Boiler Room is unbelievably long. :sad2:

We ride it, it's fun, etc.

At this point, we decide to head back to the room and "settle in". (It's between 12 and 3pm anyway, so it's a good call on our part)

Get our bags from the bellhop, go to the fifth floor, throw our stuff into the room, then go up and grab a Coke from the Concierge. That place truly does make my life... :thumbsup2

I change into shorts and we head down to Disneyland and Pirates of the Caribbean. As we're waiting, we figure we might as well try to fastpass Big Thunder Mountain. Ehhh, closed due to technical issues.

But, we did ride Pirates (let me stress that you should always take the RIGHT line. Never go left. Ever). Thought it was quite good.

Got an early dinner at Blue Bayou. Great short ribs, the Mint Juleps weren't as delectable as I make them (tasted a little watered down, if you ask me). Then grab Pirate Ears then head back to the room to change back into jeans.

We go over through the California Adventure entrance from the GCH and do Single Rider for Screamin'. Let me stress, that the lights on Screamin' at night are spectacular.

We then go back through to Disneyland and grab Ice Cream Sandwiches for the line at Haunted Mansion. Bad news was there was no line, so we had to eat them quickly while in the Stretching Room.

We then hit Big Thunder Mountain than call it quits for the night.

Coming up tomorrow: Day 2, and the snapping off of my pin lanyard. Dun, dun, dun...
