I think that I would like to attend the party in January, but really do not know what to expect. The dates we have available are Monday Jan 22 and Friday Jan 26. My DGD will be 5 and is a nightowl, so the hours are not a problem, but would someone mind explaining how a hard ticket event like this works? Do these event tend to be crowded, and are there things for all ages to enjoy? TIA for the help, I would love to see the fireworks and parade if it is different from the regularly scheduled ones.

We always go to the halloween party, when we heard about this we moved our whole vacation!
We were ready for the change, the halloween party use to be not all that crowded, maybe we were lucky. More recently we have noticed higher attendance.
We were on the waiting list for disney vacation club rooms in October and when we switched to January, we had no problem. I am guessing it is going to be much less busy then in October.
They have fireworks and a parade that is totally unique, that you will only see during the event. They only sell a select number of tickets, and the parks are swimming with characters, usually dressed for the occasion. In this case I expect to see pirate Mickey and Goofy and princess Minnie.......as well as the regular princesses.
I know we have always had such a great time with MNSSHP, I expect the same great time with this new event.

Thank you for your reply. We are such newbies that we were not sure what it entailed, but are now planning to order the tickets when our ADR's are placed on Sunday. The ones to worry about the late hour are my DH and I, my DGD is a night owl and would never go to bed if she had her way :rotfl:.

Hello and welcome to the boards.

Just an FYI the tickets are available to order now and if going to the party you can actually make your ADR for that night now even though it is outside of the 180 day window. The 2 restaurants are Liberty Tree tavern and Tony's (Italian) that are taking ADR.

I am going January 26th and made ADR's for Tony's that night already. Just wanted you to know that could be done now.

We will be there from 21-29th at Boardwalk Villas.

Have been to an after hours event and it is really wonderful. Crowds during January are down to begin with and event tickets are limited. This one certainly seems like it is going to be hit and can't wait. These events have plenty of character time and certain rides will be open as well as specialized entertainment. WDW knows how to please. Have a great time.

Thank you for the FYI. I'm happy to hear about the character interaction as my DGD would rather visit her "friends" rather than the attractions.
