My husband loves pirates, Mom loves pirates, I love pirates and my one year old well he loves Jake so my guess is he loves pirates as well! All in our party are big pirate lovers but my son will be only 17 months in our planned trip in December. Do you think he will do okay in the Pirates and Pals Voyage? Still not sure how he will do with fireworks... Any experiences with 17 month olds or around that age?

pirate: If your son is not scared by large characters such as Captain Hook & Mr. Smee nor is upset by being on a boat, he will enjoy the experience. Music is pumped into the boat as you watch wishes... but you are far away enough that the fireworks are not too loud. My timid 3 yr-old daughter really enjoyed the P&P cruise when we went last year. Your son might enjoy the little "prize" he gets upon disembarking (probably a play sword or a pirate eye patch kind of "prize"). :sail:

Going in Nov with an 17 month as well and was wondering the same thing

Pirates is fun and the fireworks are still pretty far away so they aren't load, but they do turn the lights off on the boat for the fireworks. So if your little one is afraid of the dark that might be a little scary. The other thing to consider is it's really late. When we went I took my 7 yr old we were staying at the contemporary. We didn't actually get back to our room until 11. They have the pre thing which u meet hook and smee take photos and sign autographs. Then you head to the boat and they sing a bunch of songs before the fireworks. After that u head to the dock and u meet Peter Pan and again do pics and autographs. So it's lengthy. I have a younger son as well he will be 20 months at our next visit we will be skipping this event this time bc I don't know if it will be too much for him. Don't get me wrong it's a blast to do but just giving you the facts about the cruise. Have fun on your trip! :)

My DD will also be 17m when we are at Disney! Somedays I think it will be great, other days (like today) not so much. Never the less we cant wait to take her! Best of luck to you! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! You have been of much help! If it ends that late we might skip it. I completely understand Ashley that is how I feel!
