PirateKitty's (Michelle & Brian) Planning Journal*NC Beach Wedding/POR Disneymoon*

I would rather have extra spending money, but that's just me! And POR is beautiful...you could also go back for your 1 yr anniversary or after you're finished with school and stay at a deluxe...because by then of course Brian will have fallen in love with Disney!!! GL!

Maybe you can do a bit both? Why not upgrade for a few nights and then keep some spending money as well. This way you get to experience the nicer hotel and buy a few extra things. Can you do that??? I don't know but its a thought.

I agree with doing both. If you are going to upgrade, do it for your last 2 nights because from what I understand, it's harder to go the other way. this way , you would have the best of both worlds - and still be able to shop to your hearts content!

Well, we thought about it. I was thinking of switching half way through the trip, and because we'll be at MNSSHP on Halloween, and we have so much planned, it would be a big hassle to change. So we decided to take the money and splurge on gifts. There are so many things that we will only be able to purchase at WDW, and we won't make it back until next year. I want Brian to be able to take half of that money and buy whatever he wants. In every day life, for us at least, its not practical that we can just buy whatever we want. I think we made the right decision. Thanks for your input! And who knows, we still have time, I could decide to change at the last minute. ;)

from one Michelle to another :goodvibes , I'm sure you will have a wonderful time on your Disneymoon no matter where you stay as long as it's Disney!

The Proposal-Well....sort of ;)

A few years (yes, I said years) after our vacation, I began to wonder if Brian was in this for good. Not only is he very shy, he is not always expressive of his intentions, but he is very funny. When my lease came up on my apartment the year before, I was planning on buying my brothers house, but Brian asked me to move in with him instead. I did, but another year passed and there was still no proposal. :sad2:

Now, the engagement is hardly as beautiful as many of you wonderful DIS Brides have described yours. From time to time he would ask me about the type of ring I would like if he proposed. I kept telling him that I would want to be surprised. But he insisted that if I was going to have a ring, it should be the one that I want. So I looked for rings, even though I wasn't sure where this was going because he still hadn't technically asked me yet. I found the ring of my dreams on a jewelers website online and showed him. He just smiled and said "ok, thanks", and he left it at that. Weeks passed, no ring in sight and I was very disappointed. Actually, I think I was mostly impatient. ;) Last summer I had been driving between Ohio and Michigan to visit a very close friend that was ill in the hospital. I was worn out between work and driving, and I came home one night to find him acting kind of funny. He said "I'm hungry, you want Taco Bell?" I didn't want Taco Bell, as a matter of fact, I don't like Taco Bell. But he insisted that we get Taco Bell. :rolleyes1 So he runs out, picks up some food and comes back. He sits down at the table and insists that I want hot sauce. I was like "no, I don't want hot sauce." He kept insisting, and I finally looked and saw this:

Yep, he proposed to me on a Taco Bell hot sauce packet. He then pulled out the ring that I had picked out. The interesting part about the ring was that he did go online and try to purchase the ring right after I picked it out but it was completely sold out! He was able to find the ring at the jeweler at a local mall and there was only one left. He bought it that day. Here is a pic of the ring.

OMG! I just started reading your PJ and I got a pretty good laugh out of this post. Actually I laughed out loud and my DF just gave me that look that says, "yes, I know you're weird but I still love you". (I actually read a lot of PJ but don't post too often...sometimes feel weird since I am not a Disney bride although we are going on a disneymoon too!)

Anyway, we have been engaged since Dec. But your story of how you showed him your ring and he went about his business like it was no big deal was EXACTLY what my DF did. I sent him a few pics from a jewelry website and then I waited more than a YEAR for my ring. All last year I kept thinking, this is it, and then it wouldn't happen. We had gone on vacation in July to Vermont (absolutely beautiful and romantic up there) and it didn't happen. I was also impatient and he kept saying it will happen, I promise by the end of the year. He finally proposed the day we were leaving for our Disney vacation - Dec 22...nothing like cutting it close.

Anyway, the taco bell packet is hilirious. I was at a Taco Bell a few weeks ago with my nieces and daughter and they found that for me. I had a few sitting on my desk for a while so when I saw it I couldn't help but laugh! =)

Congrats!

Jes

I was laughing also looking at all you posted. Tace Bell was great. Congrats from one Disney bride to another. I got married Dec 3 2005 and we celebrate our anniversary there every year. I just have to ask though what is MNSSHP. I have been trying to figure it out.

I saw the jewelry you were looking at. Your dress is so BEAUTIFUL that you shouldn't take away from your dress and you so i say go with number 2. ALso POR is nice so splurge the money one yourselves.
