"Pirate, Your Reputation Precedes You!" The Stitchs Do WDW & The Dream! New 9/7!

I am such a bad, bad, Diser! I totally missed that you were writing this! I kept wondering, but I was only checking the DIS from my phone...I am all caught up now, and can't wait to hear more! So sorry D got sick, that is my worst nightmare! DD5 has been down and out with a tummy bug since Thursday, hoping she gets better soon! I am all subscribed so I won't miss another moment! :)

Oh no...that poor little guy. At least he seemed to be in good spirits!!

I know--he was torn up! But he really was a trooper about it!!!

Oh no!!! I hate sickness at WDW.. I got food poisoning when we stayed at AKL a few years ago and my mom ended up washing my clothes for me. She felt like they were okay being left at AKL and that if anyone really wanted to take them then that's okay too haha. They ended up being fine and problem solved. Sorry you had to toss them :( I'm assuming the sickness didn't last!

Yeah, it was pretty yucky. I'm usually the one who gets sick anywhere we go--and I would much rather it be me than him!! Ooh, food poisoning?? I hate that!! I wasn't thrilled about throwing away the clothes either, but it definitely beat out having to carry them with that smell!! ;)

I can completely relate. A very similar event occurred for our DS as well on our last day at Disney during our last trip - it'll be detailed near the end of my trip report. The scene of the crime was in front of the Tomorrowland Speedway. And we ended up throwing away his shirt as well.

Hope your D started feeling better soon.

Oh boy, I'm sorry that happened to you too!! I can't wait to read about yours in your TR!!

Ohhh no poor boy! How horrible! I can totally understand panicking when you heard others were out for 8 days. I hope D gets better and soon. What a total cutie.

Awww, thank you!! He handled it really well!!

It totally stinks when they get sick on vacation. Poor little man. Can't wait to read the rest of the story(channeling Paul Harvey:rotfl:)

Yeah, the sickness on vacation is not fun at all!! Lol--I totally read that in Paul Harvey's voice even before I read your parentheses! Great minds think alike!!

Oh no! Poor kid (and parents)! He must have been so upset, and I do not feel for you trying to clean that up with only napkins and wipes.

I would have thrown the shirt away too.

Oh, yeah. . .I was a cleaning machine!! I think we must think a lot alike--that shirt was definitely history!! :lmao:

Aww so sorry he got sick. Of course it's never fun to be sick but especially in Disney. All the planning and waiting. My son was sick one year and it's not fun.

Hope to hear in the next update that he's feeling better and this little bug won't last your whole trip.

Definitely not fun to be sick in Disney!! I'm sorry that happened to your son as well! I think there should be an anti-sickness in Disney rule!!

Oooooo, poor D! that couldn't of been fun for any of you! hope it was a one time issue and he felt better the rest of the trip!

Definitely not our funnest Disney moment!! I am sending you a message, but THANK YOU for D's pics and note!! He felt like he was Mr. Big Man!!! :)

I was several updates behind, so I have a few things to comment on.

First, i like your room at Doubletree. It looks nice, and it's good to hear that the beds were comfy.

Second, I hate that you had a grouchy greeter at WL. You were probably nicer than I would have been!

Lastly, I was afraid that at some point D was going to be sick. It just didn't seem right for him to be dragging around, not eating, and wanting to go to bed. I didn't know what kind of sickness until I read it though. Being sick at Disney is never fun. I hope his tummy got to feeling better quickly!

The Doubletree was definitely a place I would go back to! That greeter was NOT someone I would go back to! I am writing my "people who were awesome on our trip" letter right now, and I think I may have to throw in "and she is not" at the end! ;) No, the sickness is SO not the way to go!! I told Brian that for our next trip, I am going to put us all in a bubble the week before we go!! :thumbsup2

HI!!!!!! So glad you're here! I've got to catch up on your PTR! Your trip is almost here!! Oh no, I hope DD5 feels better soon!! I had it last Tuesday, and when I was posting on Facebook, I had a lot of people tell me they'd had it too. Yucky yucky stuff!!!

Another update (which does not include vomit!) coming tonight or tomorrow!!

Time to head out for the evening! D woke up from nap feeling refreshed and like he could go to Downtown Disney. We got ready and decided that we would go for just a little while and not push it, since we knew we would have a busy morning the next morning.

First stop, though, a totem pole pic!

And one more. . .

IMG_2580_zps5f4b5676.jpg

The time had finally come for one of D’s favorite activities. . .the Disney Bus!!

We went down to wait for the bus:

IMG_2581_zpsd727579a.jpg

This time, D was very fascinated by the signs on the buses that told where they were going. He decided he could “read” them by knowing what the first letter was. He would announce to everyone what bus was pulling up as it came. He thought he was Mr. Big Man with his “reading skill” :rotfl:

D & I watching for some buses:

IMG_2587_zps6646fbb8.jpg

Brian stepped out while we waited and took some pics of the Wilderness Lodge itself. I love this one:

IMG_2584_zpsf9f0211e.jpg

Ahh. . .we do love the Lodge!

Our Downtown Disney bus arrived after not too long, and we were off!

D was so excited to be riding a Disney bus! He chattered the whole time about the buses, where they were going, and what the announcement said. A side note: D’s life “goal” is to be either a teacher or a king or a monorail driver OR a “person who makes announcements”. He thinks I am super-successful at my job :eyeroll: because I get to make the morning and afternoon announcements at my school each day! :rotfl: So, he was beyond thrilled when the announcements would come on!

Once we got to Downtown Disney, the guys went to Once Upon a Toy, and I went over to redeem our PhotoPass Plus. On our June 2012 trip, that process took me no less than 45 minutes, so I was glad I had a little time. On this trip, it took 2 ½ minutes. No joke. So, we had time to do a little shopping (or scouting), pick up the . . .wait for it. . .2013 Disney Bus (if you’re on a bus/car/truck count, we’re up to 4 buses), and then head to our dinner destination!

Next Up: Will Fulton’s be as yummy as we remembered? How will we like the DxDP?? Will D have more to talk about with people in bathrooms?? ;)

So D is super cute with his bus fascination and knowledge.
Love that shot of WL, I've never been to the Lodge! Some day I'll have to make my way over there.
Can't wait to hear about Fulton's!

I think D's life goals are simply fabulous. What a little cutie.

I love your shirts! We're big sports fans too, if I could find some U of Illinois ones I'd buy them for us too!

I can't wait to hear what you thought about Fultons (and DxDP in general). We booked it over Citricos for our last signature of our July trip.

Awww, thanks! He thinks he is the bus guru! The Lodge is beautiful! You definitely need to go see it! Fulton's should be coming up this evening!! :thumbsup2

Being sick at Disney is so sad!!!! I hope day 2 goes better!

It was sad!! I don't think anyone should ever be sick at Disney!!

I tell him all the time that those are great life goals! ;) Everyone's got to have a dream job!! A good friend of mine made those shirts for us (that's what he does as a business), and I love them!! I make the guys not wear them during the year so they're still "good" for Disney! :rotfl: Fulton's coming up tonight! Oooh. . .Citricos? I have thought about that one, but we've never done it! :yay:

I'm glad that D was feeling better after his nap! I love how he has his career choices all laid out, so cute :rotfl: Lovely pictures too, it looks like it was a really nice day.

Loving your TR. Your latest update reminds me of one of our DS's early trips. He was 4 years old and we arrived at Disney early Saturday morning. Our plan was to get checked in and head straight to MK. However, DS had different plans. His plan was to ride mass transportation for several hours. So we spent the entire morning riding the buses, boats and monorails. We did not actually enter a park until about 2pm but DS had a blast. I think that was the highlight of his entire trip that year:)

happy D got his card and likes the photos! I started my TR last week, stop by when you can!

great he was feeling better after a nap! love his goals, King "D"!!! you are a cool mama!
wow 45 minutes to get your PP+ last time, there must of been quite a line!

I'll be back tomorrow for replies and to post the Fulton's update.

Tonight, in light of the sad events in Boston today, I just wanted to say again how grateful I am for our little corner of the Disney world. Hugs to all of you for following along and for being my friends!

Hi there :wave2: Just joining, but I'm all caught up and subscribed. So funny that when D was talking about goals, I laughed out loud a little. Love reading your updates can't wait to hear more.

Oh my goodness, I think that would be D's "best day ever"! We may have to try that just as a surprise! ;)

I will definitely stop by today on your TR! Can't wait to read!! Yep, if you're going to have a goal, I guess being a king is a pretty good one!!

Last time, the guy had never done a PP+ so it took FOREVER (and 3 CMs!).

Time for Fulton’s! When we went in June 2012 (on the regular DDP), we LOVED Fulton’s. I wasn’t sure if it would live up to our memories this time, but I am happy to say IT DID!!! :thumbsup2

Mr. Cool, with his newly purchased shades. . .headed to Fulton’s:

IMG_2591_zpsd51bfbb8.jpg

When we got there, there was a little bit of a short line. No worries there—I passed the time by taking pics!!

IMG_2595_zps514c94e1.jpg

IMG_2593_zps4395f98b.jpg

In just a very few minutes, they started to take us to our table. In 2012, we were seated upstairs. Well, this time, the gentleman was going to take us to a table on the “ground floor”. D said, “Wait, can we please go upstairs??” So, off we went!

Our server was Stephen, and he was great. He verified that we were on the Dining Plan, and then he asked twice if we were sure we knew it was 2 credits per person and that we HAD two credits per person to be used. We had been through this routine in 2012, so we assured him we were all good.

Since this was our first time on the Deluxe Dining Plan, we were unsure how to order. He explained how to order the appetizer, the entrée and then the dessert. D was still feeling a little sketchy, and he wasn’t much interested in their appetizers, but I talked him into celery and carrots. I have to admit, I ended up eating most of it!

Before they brought our food, though, we took a few more pics!

IMG_2597_zps5bee696e.jpg

IMG_2598_zpscf7b5bd9.jpg

Gone a little Disney Crazy!!

IMG_2602_zps6d9e626d.jpg

Then, the food started coming. First the appetizer from the chef (not the one we ordered). This is a crab spread with rye crackers. I am not a rye fan at all, but these are TERRIFIC!!

IMG_2603_zpsaa8dc6ee.jpg

Just a few minutes after that came, our appetizers came. I had the shrimp cocktail:

IMG_2604_zps8eaf86f5.jpg

I wish I could have another one RIGHT NOW!!

Brian had the tuna tartare. It was on some sort of guacamole. He said it was good, but not his very favorite thing.

IMG_2606_zps98abff7b.jpg

I didn’t take a pic of D’s celery and carrots. . .I figured you knew what they looked like! :rotfl:

After that, the entrees arrived. I had my very favorite Fulton’s meal. . .crab cakes!! They are served on top of fried green tomatoes with this corn stuff around them (yes, that’s the technical name. . “corn stuff” ;) ). SO STINKIN’ GOOD!!!!!

IMG_2607_zps4a32c58e.jpg

Brian had the lobster stuffed-with-stuff. I honestly can’t remember what all was in it, but it looked great! I am not a lobster eater really, but he said it was terrific!!

IMG_2608_zps19718857.jpg

D, of course, had chicken and fries. I wasn’t going to argue with him. I was just happy he’d eat!

IMG_2609_zps27423215.jpg

We ate and ate and ate and ate! When I felt like I was COMPLETELY stuffed, Stephen brought out dessert. In 2012, I got the cookie sundae, and I didn’t like it at all. It was dry and pretty yucky. For some reason, Brian ordered that this time. I was feeling all smug because I wasn’t going to order the yucky thing, so I ordered chocolate flourless cake. D ordered ice cream.

Of course, when it came, Brian’s cookie sundae was AWESOME!! (Somehow, it must’ve just been bad when we went last time). My flourless cake was yummy, but after two bites, I knew I would have a raging chocolate headache if I ate anymore, so I had to stop! D didn’t want much of his ice cream, but he did eat some!

D checking out the view while we finished up:

IMG_2613_zps298fcc8c.jpg

We settled up our bill, declared our first meal on DxDP to be a success, and headed out to explore a little more in DTD!! Fulton’s, we will definitely be back again!

Next up: Where will we go next in DTD? Will someone have to roll me around after all of that food I just ate??

cute photo of D rockin' his new shades :cool1: nice view and even though I'm not a seafood lover dinner looks yummy!

let me think....SHOPPING of course, either WoD, the toy store or Lego's!

So glad to hear that you enjoyed your dinner at Fultons! I assume that the views are better from upstairs? Is is so much better that we should ask to be seated up there?

Those crab cakes look awesome! Fultons has the one menu that I haven't really studied ('cause I generally know the menu front and back by the time we actually get to our ADRs :rotfl:). I'm excited to try dinner there!

Thanks!! He loves those shades! I'm just happy he'll wear his sunglasses! :thumbsup2 The food really was great! They have a lot for non-seafoodies, too!! :)

The views are definitely great upstairs--you can see almost all of that area of DTD because the whole room is windows all the way around! I would definitely ask to be seated up there--I was so glad that D did! ;) I am a menu-memorizer too! I always know what I will order before we ever get there! ::yes:: Y'all will definitely love it!!

Those crabcakes and fried green tomatoes look really good! Too many restaurants to try at Disney and not enough days on our trips.

Smiled when I saw D's meal. You know how you can tell you're in a signature restaurant? The fries for the kids meal is served in a silver cup. :goodvibes

Great Post...I have been debating about making a reservation for Fulton's but that has just pushed me over the edge. Those pictures look so yummy!!
