Pirate Ship Battle 101

Ok, as much as I love toplay pirates, I still don't really know whatI'm doing. Any tips on what to do? How does the number of points by your ship get higher? When shoudl I click on my ship after I'm dead to use the cannonballs? I have no clue, and my friends all keep playing with me and letting me go along for the ride! I want to be able to actually play and contribute! lol

Any hints would be greatly appreciated!

i really wish i could help more, but i usually stick to playing friendly pirates with vmk buddies i can trust. after so long i am still not very good at pirates lol

Hey, here's some tips taken from a reliable site.

• The best ship is probably the Wicked Winch. It has good ammo supply and is good for sinking other ships.
• The best way to sink someone is to enter the "T-Formation." This is when your ship creates the top of the T and the other ship is the stem. Then you can fire a few times, and you will sink the ship.
• Be sure to trap the other players to take them out.
• After every shot you fire, move out of the way so you can not get hit. Sometimes, you sink the ship, but before they sink, they fire. If this hits you, you lose all your credits.
• Sometimes when you are on one side of a rock and your opponent is on the other, ammo will go through the rocks. You may surprise someone and will sink them.
• It is important to lead your shots. In other words, shoot at where the other ship is going to be when the cannonball gets there, not where it is when you fire.
• you and your enemy are in parallel lines, and you are ahead a bit, fire your cannons. if your ship is the Wicked Winch, you usually get a instant shipwreck.
• When controlling your ship, be sure to fire with your arrow keys instead of using the mouse. Sometimes, when you double click to fire, you end up moving instead of firing.
• Never stop moving your ship! Keep moving constantly to ensure that you do not get hit by any stray cannons!
• Always get the barrels whenever they appear close to you, even if your health is full. That way, the other team cannot repair their ships and you have a better chance of sinking them.
• Make the aim and first priority of your game to collect health and ammo. Blasting cannons should come second, as getting health for yourself is more important!

Adding to your other questions. When you are dead, you turn into a shipwreck. When one of your oppenents is fairly nearby, double click your shipwreck and up to 10 fireballs will shoot out. One fireball counts as one less health on your oppenents ship.

The number by your ship is the number of points you have collected. You will get so many points for each hit, and if you're lucky, you could win all your oppenent's credits by completly sinking them. If your team wins the game, another 100 credits are added. Bonuses are all elegible, but I'm not too sure about weather my equations are correct.

• 5 wins = 50 credits
• 10 wins = 100 credits
• 50 wins = 500 credits

my best tip is to always have your green arrows showing... Click once to show the arrows, then click again to shoot.... If you always have your green arrows up, that greatly reduces shooting from the wrong side. The arrows will stay up for about 5 seconds with the one click and anytime during that if you click just one time more (in that same direction) you will shoot

Here are some basic tips:

-I shoot using the arrow keys because it is much easier to me than the mouse.
-The best ship to get is the Wicked Wench or the Flying Dutchman for Ship Battle but for Capture the Flag use the one your team mate didn't use (If they have Black Pearl use Wicked Wench, if they have Wicked Wench, use Black Pearl) Those two ships are considered best for Capture the Flag.
-(In Ship Battle) you earn points when you shoot someone and it hits. If you win the game you get a bonus of 100 points. Add your total amount of points and that amount are the credits you get when you get back to the lobby.
-(For both Ship Battle and Capture the Flag) Three wins get a key. Level 1 earns you a Bronze key (most likey a Pirate Throne prize). Level 2 gets you a silver key (Pirate wall or 300 credits) and Level 3 gets you a gold key (new Pirate Hat, Single use Coral Magic, Pirate Turret or wall, or 500 credits).
- If you are a Black Pearl trying to get the flag, try avoiding the other ship by going the other way or by moving past him, trying to go as far as possible from him. If he shoots go up or down and try to avoid him.

Thank you guys so much! It's the little things I don't understand, which you all gave me hints on! Maybe now I will try to play again, this time a little better and not feel like I'm making my friends waste credits when I am on their team!

This is not always true. If someone uses a shooting tip mentioned, sometimes it is best to stay in one place and wait for the cannons to sink, rather than sail right into them.

Remember that the other team knows some or all of these tips and they WILL use them. Sometimes you need to think for yourself during the game.
