Are they still doing a pirate night on the Dream? If so do more people dress up or not? This will be our first cruise so I’m not sure what to expect.

It's my understanding their not doing Pirate Night as in the past. There are fireworks, but no show (to avoid large crowds in one spot).

On the 9/20 Dream cruise, pirate night and Halloween were combined on the third night. Some folks wore pirate costumes and some wore other costumes. At dinner, we all got the usual red bandana, ate from the pirate menu, and there was a small pirate-themed show. But there was also a Mousequerade party for other costumes and we were told that it was Halloween. So... I guess it was both? The Halloween drinks of the day were on night two, though. It's all very confused at the moment. I don't know why they're doing it like that. Better to split the two themes like they used to do.

Anyway, yeah, no pirate show. There are fireworks and then a short dance party.

Last week we had separate nights for pirate night and the Halloween masquerade. People definitely dressed up for both! Pirate was really only dinner festivities, I don't think there was anything going on above deck for it.
