I am thinking of signing our DS up for the pirate cruise that sets sail from the Grand Floridian. In my guide book is says ages 4-9. Are those firm? DS will turn 4 within 4-5 months of our trip. Also, cost is $30 per child, can both parents go along or just one?

Thanks! This will be our first Disney extra-curricular activity. :goodvibes

The cost is $30 a child and no parents are allowed to go along. You send them off with the cast members and see them 2 hours later. The solo (no parents) is most likely a large reason for the age requirement. Younger children may not be able to go alone with the CM for 2 hours.

That said - my children (4,5,6) went in April and loved it. My 4 year old is very independent and had no issue with going without us.

Oh, I did not realize the kids went by themselves. DS is not ready for that. Thanks for the info!

If you are looking for a family thing maybe the new pirate fireworks cruise would be good. I think I read some characters are there for part of it.
