I just got the first set of pics on my computer, so I thought I'd share some pirate cruise ones. I remember I had a hard time finding pics of that when I was researching all our options. So here's a quick review if anyone's interested. My kids (7 and 5) went last Monday at the GF.
We arrived a few minutes after 9 for the 9:30 cruise. At the GF boatdock, we signed the kids in and signed a release. They were very organized and had our receipt from our CC ready to sign. They gave us a pager in case of emergencies. The kids met the head pirate, who was great with the kids, and got their Mickey pirate bandanas. The pirate joked with them and goofed off with them until they set sail at 9:30. There were 17 kids, I believe, and I am guessing the median age was about 6. There were a few 4 yos and a few that looked 10-12.
DH and I went over to the GF Cafe and had a nice breakfast, then looked around the GF. Our youngest (2), was "home" at POR with Grandma and Grandpa, swimming and playing at the playground. Heaven!
When we went back to the boat dock to collect them at 11:30, we heard them coming before we saw the boat--there was a loud rendition of "Yo Ho, It's a Pirate's Life for Me, ARRR!" over and over. It was so cute. They came around the bend and all looked so happy. They told me they searched for the treasure with a map, and the pirates (adults) on board did a little skit where one pirate mutanied (is that a word) and was cast off on an island. Later they picked him back off. My 7 yo loved this. They found the treasure and had a bag lunch of pb and j, a rice krispie treat, a box juice, goldfish crackers. When they got off the boat, they each got their share of the treasure (in colorful baggies) filled with a little treasure chest, beads, gold coins, etc. No candy, which I appreciated.
For $30 each, I think this is one of the best deals in Disney. I'd probably pay half of that just for the cute bandana Mickey ears! When you add lunch, treasure, and the great experience (not to mention childcare for 2 hours), it's a bargain! Here are some pics:
And here are the tees I made them to wear: the bottom says "It's a Pirate's Life for Me!"
