Has anyone had their kids on the Pirate Cruise that leaves from the Yacht/Beach club? is it similar to the one that leaves from the Grand Floridian? We are staying at the BCV so that one is closer for us.

Do the kids enjoy it?

Are they completely safe since this one somehow explores some parts of EPCOT I think...

Any first hand info on the cruises will be appreciated.

I wasn't aware that there were two...thought there was only one at the GF. We were going to book it for my DS 5th birthday celebration coming up in June, but after talking to the CM about it we decided to wait until his little brother gets older and can go with him. I know that he would love it...just not sure if he would be willing to break away from us. When I explained to him about the fact that it was only for kids his reply was "well, Daddy can go with me". Unfortunately, they meant "kids" under 12! :teeth:

It's called the Albatross cruise. Scavenger hunt also. I think it is only on Wed. From what I read of it, it travels to world showcase of EPCOT and visits maybe 6 countires. Same price. We are going in June and booked the GF pirate cruise. Our kids are 6 and 4 3/4. We were a little nervous about them possibly going to EPCOT countries without us there. So many people around. Unlike the GF pirate cruise, alot less people around where they are going and they can watch them better.

I have only read limited info on the albatross excursion.. YOu could call and ask what time it is on wednedays? I do believe I also read that was the only day it was available, but I could be wrong.
Depending on what time it is, world showcase may not be open yet and therefore it would be much safer.
I imagine this would be the case, as they wouldnt be able to corral a large group of kids amongst all the other people!
Ck into it, but that would be my thinking! See what time the adventure starts etc...
they will probly be back for ws even opens up!

My son was 6 and enjoyed the Pirate Cruise very much. He still talks about it a year later! We will try for the new one since it is different. I think he will like to explore the countries.

The Albotross cruise is only offered on Wed. I tried to book it at 90 day window and it was already sold out. Pretty popular already. The cruise is in the morning and World Showcase is not open to the public at that time, so your children are the only ones there with the CMs. I hope that mine enjoy the Pirate cruise out of the GF.

DD really wants to do the Albatross Cruise this November. Since it is only offered one day a week, and limits the cruise to only 10 "pirates", it will be HARD to get into. I'll be ready at 7 AM at the 90 day mark. If she doesn't get into the Albatross Cruise, we will try for the Pirate Cruise. I think she will like either one- exploring Epcot countries just sounds cooler, IMO!
