I just booked a pirate advanture going out of Caribbean Beach for my 4yr. & 7yr. old grandsons. Now I am wondering about the safety issue of them going by themselves. There is no adults only for 4-10 year olds! Anyone have any experience doing this.

Our son just did that cruise last summer (he's done 3 so far). Its one of the smaller cruises in terms of numbers. They all wear life vests and buddy up. No need to worry at all.

There are CM's with the kids at all times and like a previous poster said, they pair them up with a buddy. My DD has done 2 Pirate Cruises and had a great time.

Signed DD~5 and DS~8 up for the one that leaves from Epcot and was hesitant at first for the same reason but, I the person I am renting DVC points from said that she takes her kids every year and that it's completely safe and the kids have a blast. In fact her DD just turned 10 so she is sad it will be the last year she can go.

I was going to ask this question too!! I'm signing my step kiddos up for the Pirate Cruise that leaves from the Grand Floridian. Has anyone done that one?

The hubby and I are going to do a Grand Tea...and be leisurely...and...grand for the two hours we have while the kids are pirate-ing! (My husband doesn't know this yet of course...it's going to be a SURPRISE!!! )

We did this 2 years ago. DD was 4 and DD was 6. I was worried because my little one is a "crazy" handful. They had a great time. They all buddied up and wore life vests. There were at least 3 adults on board. They gave them mickey ear pirate bandanas, had lunch, sang songs and found treasure. They give you a pager and make sure you bring your pager and receipt when you pick up your children. They will not release them without the receipt (at least they didnt for me).

Our kids did this one last October. The CMs were fantastic, and our kids had a ball. It was one of their favorite things of the trip. Ours too, since DH and I went over to the Poly for brunch at the Kona Cafe. :)

I thought about doing this for my DS8 this June, but I thought I read the hours for this were in the morning, before the Grand Tea starts. :confused3

That could be true...we JUST decided that we would be going back in August, so my plans are tentative at best. If we can't do a Grand Tea, I'm sure we can find somewhere else to graze!

As a previous poster said, the Kona Cafe and Tonga Toast are just a monorail ride away!! :thumbsup2

I went researching for both of us after I posted this :goodvibes and unfortunately it is in the morning. I'm taking my son without the hubby this June and knowing myself ;) I will need a little solitude and thought this sounded great for him . . . and me. :cloud9:

No no no. If you put your kids on the GF pirate cruise, you've got to head to the POly by way of boat not monorail. Here's the picture I got as we passed my son's cruise out of the GF. As we came by all the kids turned on us and shouted ARRRRG! You gotta take the boat.

We signed our boys up for th eone from PORS since it was on SUnday (and not booked) The girls will be at CRT.

I hesitated at first since I'm not sure about my youngest. Don't know if he'll actually go, but I hope so.

My silliest thought - aren't there alligators in those waters? my youngest two can't swim which makes me very nervous.
