Pink Castle?

It's had been several years since we've been to Disneyland when we returned this past May. I don't think I'm crazy but I thought that the castle used to be blue. Now it's pink? Please tell me that I'm not crazy. When did the color change?

Prior to the 50th I believe there was a bit more blue, but it was redone for the 50th, and since then the color has pretty much stuck, I believe it has changed a couple of other times as well.

Hehe well it is Sleeping Beauty's castle after all. If you've seen that movie the fairy's have her going from "blue" to "pink" dresses. So I guess it's only fitting that her castle does that too!

I've only seen it once (last fall) and it was a pretty pink. I think I read that it was painted a more vibrant pink for the 50th celebration, but when re-painted would return to a more classic pink.

I just loved it, especially at night with the colored lights on it. It looked purple at times, fuschia at times, very beautiful!

I'm glad I'm not going crazy. I remember a long time ago a special about Disney park on the travel channel saying how the castle in California is blue because its hot there and the color is "cooling" and the castle in Paris is pink because its cooler there and the pink was "warming" to the guests. I guess they were wrong.

I had a little baby snow globe of mickey standing on top of the blue castle that my kids broke about 2 weeks before we went. My husband gave it to me on our honeymoon in DL in 97. I was hoping to replace it, but I guess that I'll just have to wait until they want another change.

If I remember right....around the 45th ann the castle had a lot of blue flags and banners on it...so maybe that made it seem blue? Don't know. I think probably the new paint job recently makes the castle more vibrant pink color...was probably really faded from the sun before.

Hmm interresting i know we have always thought of the castle as blue or pink o i have a photo album of disney right next to mw ill look!!!

OK so im looking at a picture tooken ion 97 and the castle was blue on top and linda pink in the middle ill look at 02 oictures in a moment here

Ok so i just looked at a photo album from 02 and the castle is about the same exact color that i just described but bear in mind i havent been to dl for 5 years wem are going to wdw with the kids for the first time ever with kids this week so we havent done disney for 5 yearss hmm... my son is there right now with some friends on a vacation with 20 friends ill call him later on this question

The Castle in WDW is Blue, it is Cinderella's castle.

DL's castle has always been pink, but it used to be a paler shade of pink. I love the bright pink. The only parts that are blue are the roofs.
