DH is from New Orleans-and we have both lived in Louisiana our entire lives- which is why I asked the question- I realize the French Culture is a big part of all of Lousiana- but Beret's are modern French cultural thing- and have NOTHING to do with the French Culture that is in Louisiana- try 16th century France- if you want to do the culture...

Pink Berets just have nothing to do with New Orleans- I could see if it was purple, green or yellow because then it would be a Mardi Gras Hat- The black Beret that comes out later is "ok" because the Saints are black and gold- but really I think someone needs to do more homework...

Beret = France
But France does not equal anywhere in Lousiana- which is the Acadians

People associate berets with France. People associate New Orleans with the French Quarter. I highly doubt VMK is filled with players who will analyze every bit of New Orleans, French culture, and the choice VMK made to use pink as the color of the beret.

Let's remember that it's all in good fun.

Actually we do have the orange skull shirt. However I dont really like it at all. I dont know about the hats this month it seems that they are aimed more towards girls the feather hat last week now a pink hat this week? I want hats that I like to wear and the last two have been very disappointing to me. Hopefully next week will be better.

I think next week is the Jester hat, and after that the Black beret, correct?

Well, by looking at the Jester hat in the gallery it looks great to me. Maybe the month is divided into 3 sections?
Mask and Jester: Unisex
Pink Beret: More of a Female type hat
Black Beret: More of a male type hat

I'm thinking of changing my name to Pierre or PePe'. I dont know if it looks like bubble bum or a frisbie. But did anyone happen to notice the new animation contraption looks like a cement mixer? In vmk lingo....see.meant lol. Or maybe it looks like a cotton candy machine that made that pink cotton candy beret. lol gotta love vmk.

Am I the only one that actually likes this hat? I love pink and I'm so happy to finally have a pink hat. I still would love some pink Mickey ears though. I'm trying to decide how many of these I should buy since it seems it's not that liked. Even my daughter who loves pink everything, does not like the hat and doesn't even want to buy one.

I like the hat but don't know what good a pink hat is when the other pink clothes don't match it. I much prefer the popped bubble gum image than a pepto bismol accident.
