So, my new 10 yr goal is to meet and befriend a member of this golf club. Why 10 year goal? Because in 10 yrs my brother will be turning 40 and we have made that the big milestone birthday in our family. So 40th is the year you get something big.
It is his dream, as I am sure it is many a golfer's dream to play Pine Valley.

Any thoughts as to where to start to try to make connections to find a way to get him an invite? I know this is bizarre, but I have no idea how to even begin. You can only play there by invite only from a member.
Yeah, I know, it sounds ridiculous, but I figure if I were to come up with some ideas, I have 10 years to find a way to get him to play there.

Any suggestions at all??

Even the most exclusive golf clubs (Augusta withstanding) will allow non-members to play for something like this. The other option is to sign up for a tournament there as there are not usually membership restrictions at tournaments.

I just came here to say good luck. I googled the course (I actually work at a Top 100 course, yet know zip about golf) and it's beyond exclusive. Members reportedly only receive 24 guest rounds a year, which is not much at all. Maybe he should become a PGA Professional or a caddy and try to get a job there.

IIRC, my FIL was a member. Unfortunately, my FIL has pased on.

I had no idea it was that exclusive. It's just a local course to me... :confused3

I do recall my FIL saying that "no woman should ever play on that course... its too hard!"

Hmm...my father has played there. I'll have to ask him about it to see if he has any connections.

Is that the one that Trump just bought?

not sure.
I don't know much about golf personally. He happened to be talking about it, so I thought, hey I have time, why not look into it.

Probably because woman are not allowed to play that course, except on Sunday afternoons .

Yes, that's the one Trump just bought. I only know this because I attended a beef and beer for my daughter's soccer team in October. It was a chinese auction and I won a free dinner for two at the restaurant at that club. It was supposed to be fantastic and beautiful to top it off. Well we waited til after Christmas since we were so busy.

Finally one day (the day we paid off credit card and my Expedition) we decided to go out and celebrate. We'll use our free meal! Not so fast, Trump bought the place and it's exclusive to members. I got it approved through their new manager that I could still use the free meal but I'd have to book it through him only! So excited, only to realize that I don't own a thing to wear to someplace like that!! Can't be under dressed in case Donald himself was there!!! Not sure if we'll ever get there now. FIGURES!!!

I live 5 minutes away from it (but never knew about it's reputation). I ate at the clubhouse twice - great view and food. Never knew that it was so exclusive though.

It just reopened with Trump as owner maybe two months ago. It's supposed to be ranked #1 out of Top 100 courses.
And to think it was Ski Mountain that I went to as a child!!!
