Pin veterans, help me out

Just got our first ever pin in mail today! Can't decide whether to use it...we had been toying with the idea of a Christmas trip but weren't sure and were thinking about waiting until spring. The thing is, it's good on all Values and Moderates, but says only WL and AKL for Deluxes. If I call, is there any chance I might get some % off other Deluxes, or are the pins generally "what you see is what you get"?

If we don't use it, it's no big deal...but it is pretty funny that I have been waiting for one for SOOOO long and now I am torn about using it!!!

From all of the Pins I have received, they did offer discounts for other resorts. It never hurts to call to get all of the details. Good luck!

Also, if you're military...I'm assuming you are by seeing you listed Shades of Green, then don't forget about the Military discounts for Disney Resorts. It may be a better deal then the Pin you received! I know my brother's Military discount is 40% off Deluxe Resorts.

It never hurts to call! Also, as long as the deposit isn't a factor, it never hurts to make a ressie, you can always cancel later in the year if you do decide to wait. For me, it's better to make the ressie and cancel (just watch the cancel by date) than to wait and be stressed about not getting a discount and having to scale back our vacation.

Thanks everyone! I think I am going to call and see what's up...we've never been during the holidays and it's very tempting!!!

We are not military...my grandfather was career Army and took our entire family to Shades of Green twice before he passed away. They are some of the very best memories I have of WDW and my grandparents. My grandmother had a hard time getting around and didn't do the parks, but she made us get her all dressed up and take her to lunch in the castle (back when it was King Stefan's Banquet Hall). So much fun.

Wondering how you made out when you called, if you were able to get a discount at other Deluxe Resorts besides AKL and WL.

I completely forgot that the Castle use to be called King Stefan's Banquet Hall, went there many years ago too.
