Okay...when I was at WDW in 2003 I bought a couple of pins at random because I thought they were neat. Now I'm getting the idea that this pin-trading is SERIOUS business.

Could someone please clue me in to how this works? How one would get started, etc...

Thanks.

It is as serious as you want it to be,

My thoughts on pin trading is that it should be a means to an end. In other words, decide what you want to collect (such as anything with Figment). Buy what you can. Then use trading to fill inyour collection.

You can get an idea of relative (not actual) value by looking at www.pinpics.com and comparing the members trading to members wanting. If you see a pin with zero or one person willing to trade and a couple of hundred wanting it you know it is rare, will be very expensive if you buy it, and require more than one pin in trade to get it.

Or you could just be into trading for the fun of it, as a way to meet people.
