Pin Trading- where to start?

My monkeys are I are going to go to WDW for the very first time in December. I think pin trading is something they would really enjoy. I found a red lanyard with white dots (Minnie Mouse style) for my daughter, and a Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars lanyards for my sons.

Where should I start looking to get them some pins? How do I tell real pins from the knock offs?

I was just looking at ebay and there are several auctions that ship from China. They are bigger lots- I'm guessing these are some of the fake ones?

Sounds like a great idea - i don't know how to tell a fake from real but i would start by visiting the disney shop/or on line disney shop and buy a few of the cheaper ones from there for them to trade. I've got a load from my visits but the next time will be with our DD when she will be 7 and i have them put away in secret for a nice surprise for her. good luck and have fun.
