Started last year when we were at the WL. Didnt think I was starting to collect at the time but it kept growing! Bought more when we were at Disney this past month.
DH just gave me the pin trading book and a few pins for Christmas. Until now Ive only bought the cheaper pins but DHs definately cost more. I have the ltd ed of EpCot 2002 holidays around the world, EpCot with wheel that changes over the flags, Minnie w/my Nov birthstone and of course Stitch.
So those with books - how do you divide your pages?

over 200. I started many years ago, but really got into in the last 3. I tried to group them in the books by some theme, like patriotic, or theme park, but that didn't work too well, so I just put them in there. I mostly collect Mickey (duh) but have at least one from every resort I have stayed in, the Wonder, the Tapestry of Nations (now Dreams) Parade (the original 6 and 2 from this year), Disneyland, and lots of others. I also have about 30 corporate themed (non Disney), some Olympic GA, Russia, and Salt Lake City, and a few Superbowl. I don't keep them in the binders, just on felt.

Happy collecting, just don't think about the cost! I know I spent abot 300 in Dec just on pins, and I traded a for a few with sale TDS pins.

I never set out to collect WDW pins, I just started picking up a few every time I went. Now I have about 200, most of which are limited editions. I prefer holiday pins, Mulan, Goofy, and Eeyore.

I've been collecting for longer than the 'popularity' of trading at WDW started. Maybe about 6 or 7 years now... :o

I have...heck I have NO clue...MAYbe 2000?? Possibly more...I haven't counted in a very long time. And also about 45 framed sets

I would say about 60 or 70. My Friend, who lives in Daytona Beach, has 6 books FULL!!! And, they are a LOT better than mine!

I have prolly around 200..... maybe less....... I have them all on a cork board bulliten board type thing in my office....... Which, after our last trip is almost full........ I kinda group them by theme.....

I dont trade with pin traders (they scare me lol) but I do trade with CM's.......

I buy what I like...... not really caring about the resale or collector value, as I think all collections should be...... for your enjoyment.

I do have one lanyard pin (a Mickey Topiary pin) and one Japanese pin (101 Dalmations) both of which I got off of CM's.....

SOmetimes I buy whole sets.... like I got all 7 of the drawfs and all of the princess open door ones, this past trip..... but again, it was because I loved them...... not for the value....

The whole book thing doesnt appeal to me...... I love being able to look at all of them out...... It makes me smile...... and since I dont trade them, I have no need to get a book to carry them around in. :teeth:

I only have about 20 WDW pins, but I have over 500 other pins. I keep most of mine in huge fishing tackle boxes.

Thanks to Shannon, I have about 12 pins, just started collecting them in Dec. Only collect kitty or Simba ones, though.

Ya gotta love a pin collector... For you that are new to it check out www.pinpics.com It will show you all the pins out there...

DD has over 250, not spoiled is she? DH and myself probably have about 100 between us. Have been collecting about 4 years. In fact for Christmas I bought the entire set of Ernest S. Marsh Train program pin set from Disneyland. I have a friend who picked up the monthly pin for me and the last one was this past Saturday.

So does anyone know approximately how many Disney pins there are? Would a safe assumption be in the thousands?

I think I've got a little over 200. I'm more of a buy and collect than a trader, though I usually wear a lanyard with some trading pins while in the park and have traded from time to time.

I put most of mine in shadow boxes that line the one wall of our computer room. I group them by subject. I've got a full box of Disneyland/California Adventure pins. Another full of pins from all the different resorts we've stayed at, and one full of Disney Cruise line pins from our cruises.

I think pins are a great way to bring a little bit of Disney home with us.

I think I have about 150-200. I don't trade, I only buy. And I spend sooooo much money each time I'm in WDW, my DH will kill me soon.

I tried to buy by the theme. I collect princesses, resorts, star wars, eeyore and Japanese ones. For some reason, I don't really care for Mickey's pins.

I wish the Disney Store will carry the regular pins they have in the parks. (Why not?) But then I'll have to declare bankrupcy.

I only have two. I have 2 Disney bowling pins that I wore on my bowling shirt.

I just counted 128 Disney pins. I started just over a year and a half ago. I've only traded twice...with DIS pin traders! I've gotten very nice pins that way! One trade was just this month, and I got a great pin of Tinkerbell in front of the castle. And it says Disneyland! Now, that's pretty special to me because I'll never get to Disneyland. I'm a Disney World person. :teeth: California is NOT my place...LOL! I mainly collect the Limited Editions, holidays, and other special looking pins. It's getting to be an expensive hobby!

My wife has been collecting for a couple of years. I have a couple of sets of the first 10 pins from WWTBAM-PI that I am willing to part with.

Thanks Obi-Wan. Should I assume you have most/all of those pins?:D
