We are heading to the parks next month (have been going for years) and people we know are also going (the same time). One of them received a pin code in the mail and used it for everyone in their party, even though they are staying in 3 different rooms (room 1 which the pin code person is in has 5 people, room 2 has 5 people, and room 3 has 4 people (including some children in the rooms).
I am not sure how all three rooms were able to use the same pin code to get free dining. I thought the person had to be staying in the room with you.
We inquired to them about this and they said Disney charged them $50 because they already had a package booked (which I have never heard Disney doing before) and that because they are all linked together they could all use the code.
What are your thoughts on this? If this was true, you would think they would share the code so we could also use it.

I have never heard of that before. Of course, it could be that one of the other groups in their party also had a PIN on their account. There seem to be a ton of people who received the Feb/March
