Anyone think this will effect the good deals coming out to the general public this year? Seems like EVERYONE and their neighbor are getting pin codes. Will this make the deals for the general public not as good or even non existent? I know last year by the time a deal expires, you hear rumors of the next one. I have heard nothing about the next one this time other than people asking what it might be.

I did get the 20/30/40 deal, but it didn't save me anywhere near as much as I expected it would on a moderate. Any savings is good, but free dining would be much better. We are going mid August.

I, too, was wondering the same thing. I was wondering if perhaps Disney was bumping up the quantity of pin codes distributed in lieu of offering an overall public discount. Last year I'm certain they spent a small fortune in television and radio advertising on the 4/3 promotion. They probably get a higher rate of booking from just mailing out pin codes which virtually costs them nothing.

I doubt it - WDW will need to compete with the huge number of offsite resorts offering deep discounts.

I have been hoping to get a 40% off PIN code for some time, but have not yet received one. Because of this, I started looking at off site resorts (we have always stayed on site at the deluxe hotels for our previous 7 trips) for our planned 14 day trip in August. I was stunned at how low the rates were. I got a 2 room suite at Embassy Suites (generally, a 3 star type resort) for $75 a night. I have stayed at numerous Embassy Suites around the country, and never payed less that $120 a night. It is a really nice family resort (includes free breakfast).

I would prefer to stay onsite, and there are other costs associated with staying offsite (parking, car rental, no dining plan). However, in our case, we have always rented a car and I will not do the dining plan because the deal for my family really stinks (my 10 and 11 year old kids are now considered adults by WDW) so these costs (for me) are fairly small.

For 2010, WDW has lost a previously loyal (and fairly big spending) customer. I doubt I will be the only one, espcially if the discounts offered by WDW are not substantial.
