Pin arrived but would raise cost!

Before I start - if anyone thinks I could do this another way and use the pin please let me know. So - Whoo Hoo - I received a pin in the mail yesterday - first time ever!!! . All excited I call WDW this morning to apply it to my upcoming trip over Christmas. I am thinking that if there is not availability using the pin then that I will split my trip in Sept/Oct and use it for the second half.

Three CMs and two hours later- the first CM was sick and had lost his way and was so confused I just got off - the second time I was kicked to the survey just as I thought I had something..... the third time it became clear. Using the pin for my trip 12/19 - 12/26 was going to cost me approximately $80 more than my present ressie!!!

How is that possible you might ask - well I discovered that if you book online during value season and it extends into holiday season you pay only for value season - a great deal if your dates are like mine! But if you book on the phone using a pin each day is priced according to the season in which it falls - in my case 6 of the nites are holiday - only the first is value, which raises the price about $350 and then the pin decreases it by about $300 and so there I am - using the pin will cost me about $80!

So I start moving backward trying to find a room during value that will decrease the cost - and after about an hour we find that Dec 11 -also the 10th and the 9th are available and I will save $300 over what I am paying now - but I won't get to go over christmas! Which was the oint in the first place... Should I save the money and forfeit Christmas - with all the crowds and stuff? Well - I thought maybe if I could get a Savannah view instead of a standard. No rooms unless I go the 11th - and then I would have a queen bed and a bunkbed in the room - and I am going solo... Well I was tempted, but let it go. I didn't want any bunkbeds in my room and I decided to do this so I could be there at Christmas anyway. So I am looking at my first time ever postcard with the pretty pictures and MY PIN - and I can't use it. If my DDIL was more flexible with her dates I could use it in Oct - but alas she is not - she had to put in for this atwo months ago since it is her busy season.

So guys no pin - no savings I got lucky the first time I booked I guess - you can't get the same deal on the phone as online.....

As a rule of thumb, if the res is a room only and you call in, you have booked through CRO. On-line and packages are WDTC.

I am sorry I don't understand the differences between CRO and WDTC... Could you help?

So do you think it would be possible to utilize the pin on a package if I talked to the "other" people? Or is CRO just an online service you cannot utilize with a pin?
