A friend of mine let me borrow her pilates DVDs to see if I like it. It is the Winsor Pilates Basic 3 DVD workout set. Here is what I have done: Tuesday morning - 30 minutes of the Accelerated body sculpting DVD (it was 6:00 am and I thought I was grabbing the beginning DVD:p ). Tuesday night - the 20 minute workout DVD before bed. I was a little sore from the morning but it went okay. Wednesday morning - the 20 minute workout DVD. My stomach muscles are now pretty sore but not hurting too bad.

Here are my questions:
1. Do you like it? Have you done the exercises long term or does it get really boring?
2. How often do you do the exercises and for how long?
3. Do you feel like it is helping?

I would love to hear any comments on the exercises since I am trying to decide if it is worth it for me to invest in the DVDs. I like that it is something I can do at home and do inside the house pretty easily. Thanks for your advice!

I don't know Pilates from peanut butter, but I just wanted to give you a big pat on the back for doing these (Doing Pilates, not peanut butter :p ) And twice a day, too! Keep up the good work!:D

I have been doing pilates in group classes at a health and fitness center for two years. I regularly attend at least 2 pilate classes and 2 yoga classes. The combination is better for me.
I went shopping Sunday and purchased white pants for my next DCL cruise. I fit into a size 6P. I used to wear 12 & 14P. I have lost 35 lbs in 2 years and feel great...for an old lady...(57)
Pilates do work, my husband also does yoga and pilates and we love going to classes together. We have the pilates tapes, but we like the group classes better. More fun.

I have just begun my routine with the same DVDs so I can't give you a long-term results.

I know that since I am in the beginning phase I have a lot of time that these will be doing me some good. I am not able to do all things in the CDs in good form yet so I know for me that I will have good use from them. I know that by developing "my powerhouse" that this will open doors for other activities with the kind of strength I need. I am also looking to tone that area first.

I imagine that anything will become boring after time, so I am planning to vary what I do so that I won't be only doing Pilates. My plan is something like every other day with the 50 min CD and the days I do the 20 min I am adding some other activity. As I haven't gotten through my first week yet I don't know if I will be saying the same thing next week or not.

Michele--Thanks for your words of encouragement.
