Edited because I think I phrased it wrong:

Hey guys :] so we're headed back to the World in December, and my youngest DD will only be 9 months old. What poses have you done with a baby that doesn't involve a parent being in the picture? I really hate having my picture taken, and don't want to be in EVERY picture that my youngest DD is in...I understand the characters can't hold her...When my oldest DD was 2, she was so excited to meet Flynn Rider at the Christmas party, but fell asleep and would NOT wake up. We asked if they would take a picture holding her but we were told they couldn't do that, so they sat on the floor with her. It was actually a really special memory because she slumped over into Flynn's lap and jolted awake...the look on her face when she woke up to that! It was priceless! Anyway, what are some creative posing ideas you guys have done with your little ones? At 9 months she'll be sitting unsupported, most likely. I want some cute pictures that don't have to involve me :-p she will also have her older sister, who is 4.

When my niece was 7 months she went with us to WDW. She had her picture with Donald at Tusker House while she was sitting in her car seat. My SIL held her for her picture with Cinderella at CRT.

they absolutely cannot hold your child.
this is to protect the CM as well as your child.

i'm actually pretty surprised that they even allowed your sleeping child to be sitting on the floor supported by them.

they really want your child to be able to support themselves even when sitting on the floor with them due to liability reasons.

so if your 9 month old can sit on the floor without assistance then thats what they'll do otherwise you really do have to be holding your child.

Yeah I understand that they can't hold her, hence the anecdote ;] but she was slumped over on them, which didn't seem to be a problem. The question is just more about alternatives to me being in the picture. I'm sure she'll be sitting by 9 months, I'm just curious about posing and such

When DD was 10 months we either were in the pictures, or she could sit in a highchair (at meals) or on the floor at meet and greets.

We ended up being in most of the pictures...

How old is older DD? Could she maybe help?

Maybe have the 4yo sit with baby in her lap? I'd think there should be enough height difference to see both girls faces well...

We have some amazing photos from when DD was 10 Months old with the characters. Unfortately I am in them too (lol) but they are so precious I don't really mind! I just held her facing them and they took it from there- playing peekaboo, etc.

Have a magical trip :)

The characters usually won't hold them but Cinderella did hold her. I forget who suggested it, it was either Cinderella herself or the photo pass photographer.

We have a picture from our very first trip of Cinderella's Fairy Godmother holding our then-8-month-old daughter. It's one of our favorite pictures. That was in 2006 - no idea if there was a policy change since then.

That is a lie, Pluto at Chefy Mickeys carried my sister around for about 10minutes...

to be honest i don't believe that occurred.
especially because its very difficult for fur characters to see in their costumes.
if it did happen it certainly shouldn't have.

I will gladly post a photo when I get home this morning. We have video as well but I don't want to drag out the camcorder and edit it out.

I had no idea about a "no holding" policy. I'm sure I have pictures of Goofy picking up and tipping older DD upside down. It was probably her favorite character interaction ever. That and when she danced with Pluto and he dipped her

Me too!!! I have a picture of Goofy picking me up and holding me at Cape May Cafe when I was 12 years old (I wasn't a toddler or anything lol), but I distictly remember that and we have the picture of it in an album. Goofy is always so much fun!
