We have recently adopted a Whole Food Plant based diet, and want to try to maintain our health while cruising. We have cruised for many years, but this will be our first time trying to eat vegan (and preferably whole food plant based). Can anyone who has cruised and had vegan food onboard please post photos or share what you had so we have an idea of what to expect. THANKS!

I would have it (vegan) noted on your reservation. They have veggie options on the menus, but those are not necessarily vegan. Being vegan IS requiring a special menu (same as allergies or gluten-free or so forth), so I would definitely let them know.

I don't know how DCL handles veganism, but I know from cruising with vegan friends on RCCL that they were given the option to specify what they would like the night before. They were so impressed with what the chefs came up with after the second night they just said "Surprise us". And their stuff looked GOOD. BUT - I do know that they notified the cruise line ahead of time that they were VEGAN and not just veggie.

Thanks! I did note it on the reservation. Glad to hear RCCL is good with this as well. We are considering a cruise with them in the future.

Good luck! I'm a vegetarian and I try to eat vegan during the day. Your best bet is the open buffet. There is one vegetarian main course option at dinner. The vegan choices in the dining rooms are few. They do work with you, but I found it very challenging to stick to my regular eating habits.
