Free gift for everyone during 25th anniversary year(I remember a lot of these thrown in the trash by people who didn't want them!) I still have mine framedView attachment 83582
Aha! Were they rolled-up posters? That solves a question in my head... we have a photo of us all taken late at night under a 25th anniversary sign and we are all carrying white rolled up papers - I had forgotten about the posters and often wondered what we were carrying in that picture!! I bet they are still in a box somewhere... I must investigate!

I'm so amazed the great and mighty Disney hasn't ceased and desisted it yet -- it's been going since October 2013!

yeah I kind of wondered that too. I signed up and have played a few games. its fun to be doing it but at the same time I'm wondering how in the world Disney let's them get away with using all that stuff! I know they aren't making any money off it, which is generally what corporations are worried about. so maybe they just look the other way for now.

I do have some pictures from the early 70s but I have to dig those up...but for now these will have to do...
Love this canoe trip at MK! This was in 87..I'm the one second from the back on the right...back when i had alot more hair!

Fireworks Factory...at the REAL Pleasure Island...I used to love to eat there with the huge sparkler drinks!

My wife and I loved to party it down at The Adventurers Club! So many memories from our honeymoon there in 2001! I was picked on ALOT!

The Cage on Pleasure Island....for its unique decor and progressive music which I loved at the time!

And my favorite stay...Port Orleans Riverside...will always be POR...first stay on Disney Property and our honeymoon choice!

.

We started going in the 70s also. And i really miss Pleasure island. We had so much fun there! Especially on new years eve. It was so nice to go to different clubs. I was really disappointed when they changed it.

This thread is awesome! Thank you all for your posts. Soooo many memories!

Does anyone remember Donald's Safari Breakfast before it was at the Tusker House Restaurant. It was in the building that is now Restrauntasaurus. We went to Disney in 2000 and ate there and loved that breakfast. The food was served out of cast iron pots.

I found this information about the Character Breakfast in Dinoland. It was originaly called Donald's Breakfast Safari and then changed to Donalds Breakfastasaurus.

I found some pictures on line but it had other families in them so I didn't want to repost. I couldn't fin any with just the characters.
It appears that the characters are all dressed about what they are at Tusker House so I am sure that they built housing for the breakfast and moved it there since it was so popular and then changed the theme so I would fit in to Africa. I just remember the food being served in big cast iron pots and the characters were so interactive.

Okay I found a random small stack of photos can't find the rest but these are printed 1990 on the back. I would of been two/three....

Here's my brother with brer bear... Miss the characters always out and about.

Yeah I think it was 74 or 75. I was like 4 or 5 years old. My memory was there was a big storm that year. We got stuck on Peter Pan when the power went out for like an hour! I also remember dad carrying me through the castle and there was like 6 inches of water...and everyone had their shoes off running for the parking lot! The things we remember! I was also not happy that I couldn't ride Space Mountain while my dad and older brother could...i remember crying about that...something I remember until this day! But I took my revenge and have been going to the parks for years!

I spent alot of time at Pleasure Island while I was stationed in Jacksonville, they used to give out free tickets to military and a few of my friends and I would go down to Pleasure Island and have a blast for the weekend! I miss the old Pleasure Island a bunch!

I'm feeling nostalgic today. I went through my scrapbook of my first trip to WDW, which was in Sept 1995, when I was 19 years old. I so wish digital cameras were around back then. There's so much I've forgotten, especially about the original Epcot attractions.

Hopefully, the picture upload works...

Mickey Mania Parade - at the time we thought this was such a weird parade. But now, we think they don't make parades like this anymore. So many more floats and performers.

And then Mickey's Starland

Disney-MGM Studios pictures

Not the greatest photo, but where my Mom is standing, over the grassy area, to where my Dad and I are...that's where the Hat was, for so long. They used to put the Christmas Tree there.

Pocahontas Show. And the "open air" Premiere Theatre (where the Frozen sing-along show was)

These guys are playing IN the queue for Voyage of the Little Mermaid. If anyone knows what group this is, I'd like to know.

Streetmosphere and benches! In 1997, we had "Rosie" as our entertainment on the Backstage Magic Tour. And through the years we used to scope out where Donna aka Rosie was working. So it was fun to look back at the first trip, and see that we had "met" her before too.

Breakfast at the Garden Grill. All the people, and this restaurant can't support breakfast? Travesty, it was one of our favorites.

There are many sins I would forgive WDW management for, if they just brought this back. And reopened the upstairs of Imagination Works...and brought back the opening of the ride...

Pre-Off Kilter entertainment in Canada.

Japan entertainment - not sure who this performer is. Information is appreciated.

And a few random things

This is from the Christmas store at the Marketplace before they renovated it. I would kill for some pictures of the other parts of the store. They had a bunch of animation up high, around the edges.

One of the buttons you used to get from eating a character meal...

We ate there when it was the character breakfast. This was right before the grand opening in April 1998. They were having previews for guests staying on property only, so it was very empty. We ate with about 6 other families so character interactions were wonderful! I don't remember much about the food, but 2 interactions make it a vivid memory:

1: I had a denim jacket. On a previous visit, we had bought character patches. Mom sewed on the back Donald, Mickey, and Minnie. Well Goofy came up from behind me and gave a motion of, "what about me?". I turned around and said that we had placed him closest to my heart (front left pocket). What hugs I got then!

2: Same meal, but getting ready to leave. Mom was taking her meds. She dropped a vitamin capsule on the floor, so I got down to look for it. Our fear was a child finding it and either choking (it was huge!) or getting sick and scaring their parents. You never forget crawling on the floor with Mickey Mouse looking for a capsule. After 10 minutes, the manager told us not to worry and Mickey mimed that he would keep looking for it.

It was 12 years before we got back, but by then, the meal was over at Tusker. And Mom was gone. But, oh, what wonderful memories of a sneak preview! Thanks for reminding me.

These pics. that I keep seeing are really interesting to look at. My 1st visit back in 1997, seems like it was sooooo long ago, and some of these things I see are very nostagic... Thanks!
