This must be before WDW became very popular in the US. Which began once Disney kicked off it's 100 Years Of Magic celebration back in 2001.

I would imagine much of the expanse of beach at the Grand Floridian is mostly gone after the construction of the vacation club there. Here, MIckey and Minnie were filming a commercial.
