I've been thinking of the Celebration all day and wishing I was part of it!
I've been in such a good mood today and I don't know how many people at work I told today that it was the beginning of the 50th Celebration but they all looked at me like I was crazy...hmm, Disney crazy is a nice kind of crazy methinks!!I don't even get to attend the celebration at all but it makes me happy to think of all who do!

That's so funny you were talking about it today at work 'cause I sort of did the same thing but it slipped out accidently. We have annual appraisals with our supervisors and coincidently I had mine today. We discussed my work performance over the last year and as I was signing my appraisal, I realized the date. I looked at my boss and excitedly said "Oh I almost forgot, today is Disney's 50th birthday". Now my boss is a very serious, all work type, in fact he probably doesn't even know my husband's first name. In fact I bet he has never been to Disney. That gives you an idea of the tone where I work - not alot of personal stuff discussed, you know all work, work, work. So for me to suddenly pop out with "It's Disney's birthday", you would have thought I had 2 heads by the look on his face. Guess it was a good thing I waited till my review was over before I said anything. It just slipped out - oh well.

I havent felt this strong of a pull to Disney, but today I'm downright JEALOUS... usually I can just go along my merry ole way, popping in here every now and then... but bam! Everywhere I see the clips of Disney, and those golden ears... I told dh "I have to " dh interrupts.. "yes dear, in Oct" *sigh

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing. I had to laugh in the one photo where people are watching a screen, it was a sea of gold mouse ears. Walt would be so proud!!!

The best moment is when the invited guests all threw their hats in the air. They also shot off gold confetti. It was a great sight to see.

I have 2 questions about the castle - did they put the golden tink at the top above Peter and Wendy like there was in the orginal drawings ? In pic 61 do you know what character is just to the left and above Kaa? (silly, but DNeph and I have been trying to figure it out while following the pics we've seen - your pic is a great close up and we still can't tell who/what it is !!??)

Wouldn't he though? I sometimes think of him and wonder what he would think of how his dream turned out. Seems so sad he never got to see Disney World. I bet he'd be in awe, just like we are!

Did you see me throw my hat!!?? They gave each of us two hats so we could throw one and keep one. What an amazing day... and the big party at epcot tonight was awesome!!!!!
