So, as you all may or may not know, last week I was in the LA area due to getting tickets to the D23 Walt Disney Studios tour. While there, I also visited Disneyland for a day, and to make it worthwhile to my dad, I also did a few college tours.
I changed my mind about doing a TR but I still want to share my pics with you! (Especially because the majority of you haven't been to DL and seen NOS) :goodvibes

Here goes:
Disneyland (8/13). I only took a handful of pictures here, mostly of New Orleans Square and the Haunted Mansion.

Pirates and the HM are both located in NOS.

My dad and I hopped over to Disney's California Adventure to watch the broadway-theatre style Aladdin show (which was amazing). I had to take a picture of the renovation being done on the Paradise Pier lagoon for the new water show, World of Color. DCA is currently under a billion dollar makeover, and I can see why- it sucked.

After Aladdin, we hopped back over to DL, and I treated my dad to dinner in the Blue Bayou restaurant. This restaurant is quite literally in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, and we had a waterside table to watch the boats go by. Dinner for the two of us, plus dessert, plus tip and tax was $96.00 :scared1: but it was TOTALLY worth it and I loved that I got to thank my dad for taking me.

We watched the Electrical parade, and caught the entire fireworks show while being moved by Guest Control.

Next post: Pictures of the Walt Disney Studios!

Let me preface this post by saying: The Walt Disney Studios typically does NOT hold tours for the public. The only way to get a tour is to be a CM or an employee of the Studios.

D23, the best club ever, seriously I suggest you join it if your as hard-core of a Disney fan as I am, offered a FREE chance to go for its members. At first, I couldn't get a ticket, but then they opened up 4 more tours, and I was in!

There were 50 of us, split into 2 groups for easy management.

The 6 legged water tower. Roy O. Disney thought two things: one 6 legs was more aesthetically pleasing than 4 legs, and 2- incase of an earthquake, it would fall straight down instead of injuring a sound stage.

Ink and Paint still has the original paints from Snow White- they're still useful, and apparently so toxic they can't trash them.

Next Post: More studios pics, and maybe I'll get to the archives (not likely)

Oh that's so cool! I'm jealous, the studios look amazing!
I hear you on the DCA thing, it stunk. I think I spent all of about 2 hours in there, I road Screamin' and Toy Story Mania. There wasn't enough to hold my attention.

This next series of pics will focus on the Michael D. Eisner Team Disney building and the Disney Legends Plaza. I forgot to mention that a lot of Corporate is located on the studios, as well.

But first a few more from Animation:

We saw Aladdin, it was awesome, and we had FP for Soarin', but it shut down as we were boarding. We got re-admit passes that we used at Peter Pan's Flight (since there's no FP there).

Darby O'Gill = Pwnage. Sean Connery as a burly 26 year old, what more could you ask?

Alright that's all I've got for the archives.

After the archives, we were escorted to the two Studio stores- The Employee store, and the disney store of the studios. I'll take pictures of my loot a little later (I dropped $140 xD), but for now- ENJOY!.

Yeah they were so cool. I wish I'd taken pictures of all the character sketches and backgrounds from Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp the Old mill, etc., though.

So cool :)
Maybe I'm just a weird one but my family loves DCA and was saddened about the construction there lol...
Also I love the Blue Bayou didn't decide our Priority Seating till the night we flew out so we didn't think we could get into the Blue Bayou so we didn't book it :(
Long and behold a couple of the families on my dance team got in by just asking
We ate at Ariels Grotto and the night we booked it I had forgot about there being no water so we booked an outside table so we got a view of construction lol
But we just focused on Screamin, and the Boardwalk
But your pictures are so COOL!!
I'm so jealous about the tour you got!!!

DCA represents everything wrong with that era of Disney, to me. The same time it was being built, Tokyo Disney Seas was being built. Of course, Disney doesn't own it's Tokyo parks, but still. It just shows two extremes of the parks.

Plus, perhaps its because we're native Californians, but my dad and I have never got the concept of having a park on today's California, in modern Californian. It should take you into another world, to make you forget what's outside the berm.

World of Color and Buena Vista Street are going to be so good for it.

I got a PS a week before for the BB. It was aweessome. We were seated 5 min before our PS.

WOW :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:
these pics are amazing! i'm loving them!
you are sooo soso lucky that you got to experience that!
how come you got to tour the disney studios building? i think you said, but i'm not sure i understood. (silly me) lol.

i've never been to disneyland, i'd love ot go (even to DCA, just to see how it is) but the Disney Studios tour is AMAZING! I can't BELIEVE you got to hold one of Walt's OSCARS! So amazing!

Thanks for posting these!!!

Thank you!!

I got to tour the Studio lot because I belong to the Disney-official fan club, D23. They held six FREE tours of 50 for their members over two Saturdays, and I was one of the lucky 300 who managed to secure a spot!

I'm glad you're liking them so much, and holding the Oscar was pretty amazing. :goodvibes

My camera's almost charged, so I'll add the merchandise pics within the next hour or so.

Agreed. I'm not a native Californian, I've only visited once - but I still thought it was cheesy. I didn't like most of the park. The boardwalk area seemed kinda...cheesy and fake? I mean, the rides were good but the theming tried to imitate a boardwalk and didn't do very good at it. The rest of the park was a lot of Pixar (which I really don't like). I don't know, it just seemed like they threw 10 different random themes in one park and didn't segway very well. Out of the 4 days we spent in DLR, I spent about 2 hours in DCA. The rest was at the Magic Kingdom (is that what it's called? I just call it Disneyland and California Adventure).

The purse and the hoodie are cuuuuuuuute! I'm probably wearing the same earrings. If by studs you mean the mickey heads themed for your birthstone, then we are.

Thanks! The hoodie is super comfortable and I've wanted the purse (in a smaller size) for a while.

And yeah I'm wearing those type earrings =D

Mines just a plain fake white crystally one, not my birthstone, though. I love them! :D

Yeah, mine are emerald for May. They don't really go with much but IDC. This probably sounds silly, but these are the only type of earrings that don't dirty my ears up. If I get an infection and my piercing is dirty, I keep cleaning it and don't put earrings in. When I eventually put earrings in, I have to put in the Mickey earrings because they don't dirty my ears up again. If I use plain old earrings from Claire's, it'll get dirtied up again. It's really weird, but hey, it works.
