Here are some of the pictures I took this past week at AKV of the Kidani Village construction. As you know, the buildings are laid out in the shape of the number "3". The buildings in the bottom part of the "3" are well under construction.

Those were great! I didn't realize they were THAT FAR along! Very exciting! Thanks!:thumbsup2

WOW...when we were there in June it was just dirt. I wish DVC was building the I 485 loop around Charlotte...it would be done in a flash.

Thanks for posting those, Mike. They have a lot going on at the Kidani site and it's nice to see some of the buildings themselves taking shape!

Very cool photos! Thanks for posting them. I'm thinking that if they are 6 months ahead of schedule with finishing Jambo then they must be ahead of schedule with Kidani too.

Great pictures. They've sure done a lot since I saw a few unconnected textured walls and a little lone parking ramp with key station last May.

I wonder if those walkways between buildings are going to be enclosed? It would appear not?? I hope they will be covered anyway!

Wow, at the pace construction is going it looks like the first phase should be done by end of next year.

Where are the walkways in between the buildings? The construction map has interior walkways in between building segments just like the ones in Jambo House. In these photos there are solid walls at the end of each segment. I know nothing about construction but it seems odd that they would put up a solid wall and then cut a hole in it later to add the walkway.

Lisa, in the 3rd and 4th pictures, it appears to me there are walkways between the buildings.:confused3

Actually the first photo looks more like the first step in constructing an interior walkway. Just thought it was odd that there isn't an opening in the side walls of the buildings. The walkway would need to be aligned with the hallways, so it would be in the middle of the sides of the buildings on either side of it. The railing in the photos 3 and 4 is along the front/back of the building and connects to the balconies on either side so there would be no access to it from the side unless you happened to be in one of those two rooms. I wonder if they are going to provide an interior walkway but instead of large windows as in Jambo House there will be doors out to these balconies. That would be great!

Yes, I noticed the beams in the first pictures. I think you're right. In fact it looks like the beginning of the walkway is visible on the second floor. I didn't think those units looked like there would be villas on either side of an interior hall. They don't look deep enough to me. I also didn't think they would make that many villas with parking lot views.:confused3

Perhaps those railings in the 3rd and 4th pictures are for construction purposes only.

Wow, what tremendous progress! Any new word on when the initial phase of Kidani will open?

I thought the same thing...and it looks like there are no connecting hallways (from the pics) on the higher floors? I gotta think that must just be perspective, but it sure looks like they're solid concrete walls on the upper floors between "segments".

Hmmm...that's going to be an interesting thing to watch.

Thanks for the pics Mike. Excellent shots! I will be at AKV in July ad will take tons of Kidani photos. Great to see our village rising!
