Pictures of real things in VMK (updated...see post #15, #38 & beyond)

Wow! I did not realize all of these vmk places were real! I have only been to the Orlando theme parks so I have never had the fortune of meeting Shrunken Ned or the Dragon. The castle in Paris looks like it would be a site to behold though. How beautiful! :goodvibes

Wanted to add my own pic, since I was wandering around DL and thought of VMK too!

I also tried to turn on my orbiter lamp, but couldn't find the switch :rotfl:

How cool! I always thought there was a Esmeralda IN WDW/DLR! :cool1:

Thanks Jewel! Yes, we had a great time!

I will do a trip report (as soon as I have the energy...still fighting the time zone change!) and will post it on the Disneyland Paris board here on Dis. I will look at pics and see if there are any more from DLP I can post on this thread.

I hope to get one more trip to Disneyland (Anaheim) before my passes are no longer good for the summer and I will try to get more pics to add including those Frontierland pics she wants. I got a couple at DLP, but they don't relate specifically to VMK.

Hugs, Kit

Great pictures Kit, thanks!

And glad you had a fabulous time :)

Awesome.. Oh how I wish we could just come to DLR ourselves and see it all and meet some west coast friends too!

Send me the link when you get around to the trip report, can't wait!

At the right of the boat is the skull from the Forbidden Temple. This is located near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland Paris:

wow!! I like that castle. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Beautiful pics, Kit!! I love them, especially the PINK castle! It's gorgeous!!

Glad you had fun, and WELCOME HOME!

Welcome back Kit, I hope you had a fantastic time over this side of the pond.
I have to agree the castle at DLP is beautiful. I went there when it first opened but have not had chance to go back yet. What did you think?

Thanks everyone. Glad you are enjoying the pics!

Not only is the castle gorgeous, the whole park is quite beautiful! It was VERY crowded though! :crowded: I wish we had had more time to see it all...I will be doing a trip report with a lot more pics as soon as I can muster enough energy lol and I will post the link.

p.s. We had quite a fun time in London too!

Wow, Kit! Great pics! I really liked seeing the Pirate Skull - do you think that is where the idea for the (kelloggs) pirate room came from? We would be looking out the skull windows of that.
Was that part of a "Tom Sawyers Island" type place where you could go and play?

Can't wait for your trip report! Thanks for posting!

Woo Hoo Kit!!
Nicely done! I'm loving the pic's and can't wait for the report and more pics! I love all the similarities to VMK.

My favorite VMK game kiosk is the one with the big screen TV and couch. Wouldn't that be awesome to have at home??

Well, I do believe that is where the idea for Kelloggs Skull Rock came from, but I don't know for sure. It *is* on an island called "Adventure Isle" (I think somewhat similar to "Tom Sawyer's Island" for kids to play) that also has "La Cabane des Robinson" (Swiss Family Robinson Tree House) as well as "Pirates' Beach". We did not make it on to the island, so I don't know if you can actually go into the skull or not.

Ok, there's a story behind this photo. The kids and I had just finished getting our loot at the VMK kiosk and had started walking away. These two guys walked up. We were all looking at their hats. I mumbled something to the effect of, "I wonder if they'd let me take a picture." DD responds with, "Ask them!" So, at the risk of looking like a complete idiot  I did! They actually took it in stride (and gave me permission to post here). Apparently a friend gave them these custom-made hats.

So here you go...the much sought after Seagull Hats (thanks guys!):

Oh that's excellent! Talk about an inside joke -- I doubt many people at DLR (who were not at the VMK kiosk) "got" it...

OK, here are some things from the Jungle Cruise...

Here's the dock (not the best pic...will try to get better one some other time):

Can't think what this scene is called, but the guy is getting his point across in the end...:

This looks just like the hippo rug, huh?:
