We are soon to deliver our fourth baby and have a trip planned for September. We will have a double for our 2 youngest and are looking into purchasing another double for our 4 & 7 year old and while we use a BOB dual lie for the big kids at home occasionally it's too cumbersome to fly with and haul along with another double.

Our 7 year old has low tone so there's no 'tuffing' him up forcing him around the neighborhood. He's able to walk well it's stamina thats the issue. Example he walked for a few hours downtown Chicago lots of stopping but even after an hour of rest he was falling and tripping a lot. The thought of the mini is appealing cause he can get in and out on his own.

The 4 year old has a wondering off habit (too confident) and in the dark needs containment from the crowds. He will walk 80% of the time but when he rides DS#1 will need a seat too.

I'm wondering how the older kids fit in it. He's 49" tall and thin.

here are some pics of my then 2yo and 5yo in the one we rented last summer. my 5yo was 38.5" tall at the time.

Just one suggestion. If you take a Disney bus, you will have to get the kids out of the strollers and pack them up to get on the bus. Will that be a problem with two double strollers and two little ones (not to mention the two older ones who aren't that much older)? Or will you be driving to the parks to avoid this problem?

If you just rented a double (or single) at each park, you'd only have to pack up one stroller to get on the bus.

We never use the transportation other than the occasional monorail ride and use valet for the van at the resorts, this next trip we are at akl and bwv so the strollers stay in the trunk so I'm not worried about coordinating the buses.

I'm glad you have it covered. Struggling with strollers and little kids is hard to do. Enjoy your trip.

Rent the stroller for the older children. That's a lot of money to spend at their ages for just a one trip use :)

I took my 46" inch tall 5 year old to sit in the Citi Mini at Babies R Us this weekend. She didn't fit and was not at all comfortable.

We'll be using the full size double jogger.

Maybe consider the city elite. It's similar to the mini but a bit larger. It has the same easy fold. Just a thought

My almost 6 yr old (46 lbs and 48 in) and 10 month old (at the time) fit alright in November. He wasn't the most comfortable but it was convenient for when he needed it. If you want the picture, I can email it to you directly. I can't get it to post unless someone can help me. Probably because it's from Facebook.

I agree with wanting a stroller for your older two - mine used on solely on our Disney trips (then when they got a bit older, we'd share our one fullsize lightweight one). It's a lot of walking, and I can relate to the wandering (my son has ADHD).

Have you looked into any local consignment shops for one? It is a lot of money, but renting at the parks is really expensive! Plus, if you have your own and someone falls asleep, it is easier if you're walking out of the parks.

I think you'll be happy bringing your own!

At the BWV it will be so easy if you're at Epcot or DHS, the kids can stay in the stroller on the boat from DHS.

Good luck!

PS: We used a Peg Perego Tandem Twin on our first couple trips. It's cumbersome and a bit heavy, but they could both lie down and sleep so it was so great! We were at the BWV that trip (they were 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 at the time). I was so glad to have our own stroller!!

you can rent a bob duallie

instead of buying one. I have a city mini for my youngest and plan on renting the elite single for DS. Only bc i know he cant unbuckle the elite. i have never seen a bob to have him try it. I do know on my girls trip with DD when she was 5 we rented a city mini and i remember commenting that was the last trip she would fit in it.

DS is 5.....he is 42 inches in the pic and 44 pounds

DD is the small 3 year old.....36 inches 22 pounds

This is a rented City Mini.

Hope it helps you decide. DS had a lot more head room in the seat than I thought he would.

Maybe somewhere you can find the sitting height of the stroller? my DS is really long in the torso.

Thanks for he pictures and replies! We own a bob duallie already it's just a trunk hog and not a great flier; we wil already have a big double tandem for the 2 babies.

I'm thinking he will look most like the last picture it's more for the seat and wheels not really for napping or anything. I had entertained a sit n stand went to the stores and what a FAIL it was a miserable turning radius and heavy push.

I wish we could get one used but no luck locally. I can buy one new for not much more than renting it a couple times we go a couple times a year when not pregnant and may need it still for those long walking adventure days here so I don't mind paying a bit more to own. Plus with the 2 babies behind him it can eventually graduate to a travel only stroller.

I was just looking at the new City Mini GT. I think it goes on sale in April. It's the mini, but with some new features -- deeper and longer seats for one, adjustable handles and some other new features.

I think that's wise. We took a sit & stand when DS was 2......he had nowhere to sit back and even though that was a bigger issue when he was 2 rather than 5, he still dozed off in the mini (which is how I managed to get a pic of the 2 siblings together like that....DS really did walk most of the time) It is so much easier to push the Mini than the Sit & Stand.....really....having rented the Mini now i want to buy one if we have anothe kid:love: It turns on a dime compared to the sit&stand.

It really is way lighter and easier to fold than that sit& stand we had (we have sold our sit&stand since renting the mini)
