Very nice! I had friends on that cruise who had a great time! Thanks for sharing.

Many of my memories are of the hours-long lines waiting for these pins. Horrible...terrible...I understand Disney wants pins to be in demand, but there has to be a better system. Just awful. Several people slept in the hallways and chairs (despite warnings) all night long for one of the pins. Not a pretty sight and they made many people resent the entire process. Thoughts?

I had friends on that cruise and they, too, complained about the pin line. I wonder why Disney didn't use the RSP system. They used it for the Maiden Voyage of the Dream. Disney knows better!

Waiting in those lines definitely won't be one of my memories, more like one of my nightmares.:rotfl: We're doing the first Alaska in May and the maiden of the Fantasy in 2012, I really hope they've got this figured out company wide. There was no reason why they couldn't have used a RSP on the PC cruise, they used a RSP on our TA back in 2007 so it's not like it's something new to them.

I do wish they would have done it differently...however, crazy as it sounds, I did meet quite a few very nice people in line, and made a few friends being "stuck" waiting. I spent 1/2 hour in line for the first pin, and almost three hours in line for the last. I guess if I had been in line the night before the release, I wouldn't be able to look at it so positively. :thumbsup2

Let's hope they do it different next time!

(Although, didn't they do a similar release of handbags on the Dream?)

I got lucky on the first pin. I just walked into the store later that day and one of the staff asked me if I had gotten it yet.

There was a line for the D&B bags on the Dream. Although I don't know if DCL could have handled that any differently. They're "supposed" to be available for the entire 2011 inaugural season. If it was an item that was only available for one cruise then they could have had it on the RSP. Apparently though there were lines for a lot of the merchandise not just the D&B bags. I also heard about lines for the leftovers from the RSP's, that wasn't pretty either.
