Pictures #18---A visit to DxL and a bit of Illuminations from my Room

I enjoyed seeing your Dixie Landings photos, (will always be Dixie Landings to me too) haven't been there since November 1998. DL was our first taste of a Disney resort. The theming there is one of the best, in my opinion!

Thanks for sharing your day with us!

...What floor where you on at the swan? That view is incredible!:)
I was on the 12th floor, Patrick. Some of the pictures are from the balcony, the Illumination ones are from a window immediately outside my room, so as to look further towards France.

I so enjoy WDW. :sunny:

Once again you have captured my breath with your beautiful pictures Dan. And once again, thank you. :D

Now the weirdest thing here is that I got every picture to load and all the music:rolleyes: Go figure. I still can't load any of your last picture post.

Anyway! The pictures are wonderful! Takes me back to my first exposure to the magic when we made our first trip and stayed at the beautiful DXL!!!

What awesome views you had at the Swan too! I'm hoping for some like that when we head to the Dolphin!

Thanks Dan, for the lovely trip down memory lane!

Ah, those were lovely, Dan. (and so nice and quick loading now that I have DSL! :) )

My favorite resort in all the World. :)

Thanks so much for the lovely trip down memory lane, Dan! We stayed at Dixie Landings for our first two on-site trips. I too like to go back and have dinner at the Colonel's Cotton Mill (I like the old names too) and then wander around this beautiful and peaceful resort. We always go there via the relaxing Sassagoula River cruise from DTD. Gorgeous view of the Boardwalk and Illuminations from your room at the Swan too!

Oh you brought back such special memories of our first on property stay, POR. We loved it. Those pics were great thank you for sharing!!

Thanks for the beautiful memories, Dan. I almost feel guilty that we're not staying there this visit, but like you we're planning on dinner there one evening and a stroll Hoefully we'll run into some of the many CM's there who always made us feel so welcome during our many stays.

Oh Dan, I felt like I was really there, then I looked up and saw my desk. Ick! Oh well, only 30 days to go!!!

Thanks a lot, wonderful pictures!:Pinkbounc

I just changed our res. to POR and those pictures made me glad I did. My son told me he really wanted to stay there. Can you give me any advise on bldg. to request. I know everyone says #14, but I was thinking about #27. It looks like your an expert so any advise would be great.

Great pictures of Dixielandings! You know that my DIS name is what it is... because I signed up while planning our next stay at WDW - that time the stay was at Dixielandings. They changed the name ... but the place still has a serene quality about it that calls you home after a hard day of playing at the parks.

Thank you again for the wonderful picture tours Dan. You have a great eye for detail and beauty.

Another beautiful photo essay. Thanks, Dan :)

You will truly enjoy it, Gagebre. It is a beautiful resort.

Here is a map of the property. I have stayed in 14 and 15, 14 a bit closer to the main building, food court, etc. 14, 15 and 27 are all non-smoking. IMO, 14, first, then 15, then 27, assuming you are a non-smoker, based only on proximity to the main bldg. Enjoy.
