Where are all the pics and the music and special picture thread I was expecting to find when I open A DAN MURPHY PIC Thread?!

I can somewhat understand that "MEET" pics and Meet arrangements should go here,

BUT... WDW Picture Threads Like Dan's belong where everyone can easily find and see them.( and I only found this board because of Oleana's link to her pics!)

If not the Community Board, where everyone enjoyed them ( and was used to finding them-
then maybe on the Trip Reports Board?
Tho, since there are so many special clique threads that run for thousands of posts on the CB, that are little more than people
saying Hi to each other,I just don't understand why the WM can't simply make a whole lot of people very Happy by having a Dan Murphy Pic thread?

But, again, Dan's pic threads are SO, SO much more than ordinary trip reports.
They were virtually WDW travel promotions!!

They bring joy to those just returned, hoping to get back, those who have not been in a long time, and those dreaming of going some day.
Absolutely Magical and Beautiful.
Always finding that special shot , the out of the way oft overlooked spot, a new perspective on a familiar place.
On our last trip I found myself looking UP to find all the little unique sights I would have overlooked if not for Dan's Pic threads.

One of my main reasons for still checking the CB these days.

Luckily I had this one saved to my favorites.
It cheers me up, at the same time makes me yearn to return.

Sure I have pics and video from My trips, but I can't possibly do the job that Dan has done with these.

I think you may be right Marilyn, the Trip Reports Board is probably the best place for these.

I must say I will truly miss seeing them on the CB... after many years of enjoyment seeing them there, I guess I still probably will never understand why they won't belong. I am sure I am the lone dissenting voice here (well I guess not lone as I agreed with pretty much all Maray had to say), but that's one thing I truly loved seeing there. Truthfully I doubt I will ever remember to go looking elsewhere and I doubt I'll be posting my pictures on the DIS if that's the case. So that is my tiny plea to let them stay on the CB I guess... or at least let us put a copy there.

Elaine - You can always post a link to your photos on the Trip Reports Board. I'm sure that anyone who wants to do the same could get help with doing that. I just hate to see picture posts go the way of the dinosaur. A link to a picture post is better than no picture post at all.

I know I could, but at that point I'd rather just post a link to one of my own websites. The only thing that truly bugs me is that by posting a link, people don't seem to go to those as often. I've just noticed that threads that have links to pictures aren't as 'well received' as ones w/o links. I hope that makes sense. I find myself also wishing I didn't have to take that extra step and even more so when I am on dial up (thank goodness is a rare thing for me...).

That's really my personal feeling about it. I just get so many requests from my friends on the CB to post pictures from my trip so I don't see the point of 'wasting space' on the DIS by posting a thread to another thread.

I hope that sort of makes sense there. Really if no one on the CB asked me for my pictures I wouldn't even care to give my opinion since I wouldn't bother posting them at all.

I'D PREFER Dan's WDW Pictures to be on the CB as they were
BEFORE where people were used to finding them as it's own thread?
ie: S/Dcheerleaders, Ya-Yas/ Riddlers etc.." The Best Of Dan Murphy's WDW Trip Pics" thread
Trip Reports was just a "second" option because they are certainly lost on a meets Board.

I guess that is where I would disagree with your Maray. I guess I don't want JUST Dan's pictures there. I want everyone who has ever posted pictures there to be able to post and not in a separate thread. I get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing people's WDW pictures there (and DL too) as well as other non-Disney pictures. It was something I always enjoyed no matter who posted them. I think that the pictures will be lost and not appreciated near as much if posted just here or on the Trip Reports Board. JMHO

I'll hush now, but I just don't understand this need for change.

I've responded to Elaine's PM on this topic and thought I should explain here as well.

The whole point of Pete adding other boards is to lessen the load of one particular board and ANYONE wishing to see threads on this topic will find it easier on the topic board than on a "catch-all" board which is what the CB was starting to become. Pete has decided that topics are to go to the proper boards and they will. Like John said, you can post a link if you want your friends to see it and then they will follow the link because they are your friends.

I understand that change is difficult to accept, but once we see that it is the best decision all around for everyone.

Personally, I prefer to see pics on the Trip Report or this board. It's sometimes tough finding them on a board as busy as the CB.
