Had a GOOD day yesterday! Waiting now for Awards Ceremony for today's dances.
Just visited a cute little coffee shop with a Harry Potter theme...and some REALLY good coffee!

What a day! Happy tears/sad tears/realization Center Stage years are done and even Daddy and big sister in tears. Three group overalls; 7th in tap, 5th in hip hop and 2nd in contemporary but the tears came during individual Title Competition. Doing it for fun, not expecting to place, and judges named her 1st Runner Up! Saying goodbye to her new dance friends on stage and then we ALL became a "hot, blubbering mess!"

Physically and emotionally exhausted. Only edited and added to my photo files about 100 of the almost 2,000 photos I took! Yes...it was as bad as a DW trip! We haven't been allowed to take performance photos at contest all year, so National's is THE time to "record" the routines and emotions. This was from our first night; that sweet little girl has been Katie's "Little Sister" since she started dancing 5 years ago. She had a HARD time saying "goodbye" to her mentor, friend and "Big Sister". Katie promised her, a couple years ago, the year she was a senior they'd do a duet. They danced to "Dear Younger Me"; the song is a letter to your younger self and a very beautiful message. They placed 3rd Overall; they both struggled holding back tears during the entire performance. It really warms my heart though, seeing the love they have for one another....

OMG yes! Had no idea I'd taken that many until I checked the night before we left. Told David I think my camera finally decided to "do what I've wanted it to do" the past 4 years! I've really struggled with the low lighting in auditoriums even on "burst". We found the "sweet spot" in this one and got some pretty decent photos. They're far from perfect but better than those from her Brahmadora shows and recitals. Fixing a family dinner tonight before they leave for Europe tomorrow but will have 2 weeks to work on photos after tomorrow. Her senior year annual photo book is going to be huge this year! Think I'm going to do a separate on for Nationals!

Dance Nationals done and now it's vacation time for DD and family! Off on their European adventure that will include Disneyland Paris!

DGD excited to be back in Liverpool to show Mom, Dad and sister the city she grew quite fond of last year.

One of the local fireworks taken from our deck last night. It was chilly enough that we wore jackets, a definite first in our 8 years here on July 4th. And the trees have now grown so tall we can't really see them well.

Chilly enough for jackets? I am SO jealous...our pool water is 96 degrees! Which explains my "Picture of the Day"...

What a difference a few hours makes! Had not checked the Weather Channel since 11 this morning; imagine my surprise when I checked in on Facebook at 8 this evening! The green lines represent this mornings projections; white lines show current projected path of Hurricane Beryl...RIGHT OVER US! So tomorrow we start preparing TWO homes for possible hurricane force winds early Monday morning! Projected 60 mph winds and 6-8 inches of rain for our county. Meanwhile...DD...and meteorology major DGD...are monitoring the storm from London today!

...and back in London DD and family are experiencing SLEET on their way to dinner after visiting Wimbledon!
