I think we want to purchase the photo disc for $99. How do they handle the pictures they take of you on the rides (going over the drop at Splash Mountain for example). Can they add that to the disc also?

Which Picture Disk are you talking about? sounds interesting.

I am NOT positive on this, but my understanding is that the RIDE pictures are totally separate and distinct from the PHOTOPASS pictures. The photodisc is ONLY of the PHOTOPASS pictures, and also does NOT include the pics taken at any meals (i.e. Chef Mickey's, CRT, or Akershus).

For those interested in finding out more about the photodisc, the basics are that in certain locations (currently only two? GF gift shop and someplace in EPCOT), you can buy a photodisc at the end of your stay for $99. The disk contains the necessary language to allow reproduction of any of the photos on the disk (you can go to Wal-Mart and have them printed, etc.). You CANNOT add the cool borders, etc, that you are able to do on-line, but any special effects shots (holding Tink or Stitch or Simba) will turn out. Do a search for the topic and you should be able to come up with some threads with more complete descriptions. Depending on whether you purchase photopass pictures regularly, this could be a good financial move. :wizard:

We just bought our PhotoPass disk on Saturday - it's a great deal, IMO. It does NOT include ride pictures or pictures taken at restaurants, tho. Those are separate and are not considered PhotoPass pictures. We were able to add the borders, etc. - the disk has all our pictures as they were taken, then all of them with the added borders and stuff. Really cool! You can purchase the PhotoPass disk at Epcot, the Grand Floridian, or in Toontown.

We bought the CD on our trip in January and loved it. A CM at the photo shop in EPCOT helped DH with the CD. She added several additional files to the CD with "extras" added to our photos...autographs, borders, park logos, etc. We think it is DEFINITELY worth the cost. As above poster stated, ride and meal photos are NOT included.
On another note, I have a friend who just returned and wants to purchase a CD now. If anyone hears anything on the online purchase, please post.

On one of the official WDW podcasts, an Imagineer talked about the PhotoPass, and how excited they were to have gotten it computerized and online so that guests can see and review all their photos in one place, and the PhotoDisc that allows you to get all your photos on CD so that you can print them at your leisure in whatever sizes and quantities you want. He then added that one of the most requested features was to get the ride photos added to the system, and that they are working on it for implementation in the near future...

We got the photopass and are happy we got it, however there are a few downsides:

Quite a large number of the photos about 20% ended up being burry. We were hoping to get all top quality pictures being that they were taken by professional photographers. Many times we wished the photographers would have taken several pictures at each location, just in case our eyes were clossed which they were in some of them. But it seemed that they were doing that only with children. However, with a weeks stay we still ended up with many good pictures.

Antother thing is that buring the cds take some time, and since there are so few locations that do it as of now, plan the time ahead of time. We were quite fast because we were concious of other people's time, but we had people ahead of us that took a very long time, examining every image which signatue to add, the size, move it to the left, to the right. It was driving me crazy. Make sure you don't do it when you are in a hurry.

However we loved the extra borders and signatures we added. And it was great to have so many pictures with me and DBF, otherwise most of the images would have been just me or him.

I'm hoping to do the photomovie, as well as the regular photopass in Oct. I can't wait to hear if it's easy to do the movie since I am completely computer illiterate!!
