After reading the post here on the DIS I had to go over and see for myself. Some of the front of the castle is the new color but they are doing a lot more on the back side.

The two guys in the bucket and the other one up high on the castle had a great view of the stage show.

The crane operator didn't look very happy.

Help me out a little. Are they painting it tan/ brown? The blue on the turrets looks nice. I love all of your pic by the way. I am always cheking for new ones. How on earth are you able to go so often?

Yes they are painting it tan. You can see the worker on the back side of the castle rolling on the tan paint.

I live 12 miles from the parking lot at MK. I can always find an excuse to go to the parks.

Thank you for the photos. As a member of the "Puh-lease leave the castle alone" club, I wish they would find something else to paint.

Looks pink to me, too. I think it's very pretty. When it's done, I bet it will look pale pink because you won't see the constrast between the original color and the new color. If they painted it a "pinkier" pink, it would probably look too "comic book" and less elegant. I really like it!

Although I don't like change - and didn't want to like the new color - I think it is very nice. I can't wait to see it in person 1/07!...Wow - living 12 miles from my favorite place...does it still seem special? (hmmmm...how do I start convincing my husband?)

I was just there last week...but didn't give the castle a good look. Was it gray before?

12 miles which way? North/South/East or West? I saw some homes being built on Osceola Parkway, about 6 miles from WDW!

Hello neighbor! Would you mind walking a little bit further down the road between the CR and SM? (2.5 miles as the crow flies from the back of the MK) and take some pics of our house under construction.j/k Can't make it until next weekend. Builders are driving us nuts. It is sort of a pink tinged tan. I think once it is done it will look better. At this point I like the grey it was better.

I live right over the border in Polk County. It is west of the parks.

I'm not very happy about the new color since I thought the castle was very beautiful before. I think they should have left it the way it was. I'm going to see it this December. Hopefully, I'll like it.

I agree-it looks more pink than tan. I really don't see the reasoning behind this, as it is gleaming white above clouds on every bit of YOAMD merchandise. It was so pretty before, why?
