DH is trying to talk me into this, and I'm open to it, but can't seem to find many examples online for inspiration. Can anyone help?

I wish I still had pictures, I might but who knows where. We did the oldest son's room in Indians theme. Even had a baseball ceiling fan. We had striped wallpaper on the bottom and tribe border in the middle. We hung pennants across the top. He had all kinds of framed cards/plaques. It really was a sharp little room. And a wahoo lamp! I think we still have that around here.

Have you seen the commercial for Penneys with the Steelers themed room? That is pretty nice.

I think I'll be doing our office in a golf theme. I am on the look-out for wooden golf clubs. My dad goes to Ireland every spring, he goes to auctions some times and he keeps an eye out for me.

I don't have any, but someday, when I have a child, I am hiring an artist to paint a realistic mural of the Notre Dame campus, probably the walkway up to Touchdown Jesus, with other photos, and decorative ND touches throughout. Definitely classy.

Sports themed, but without being too tacky.

I cannot wait!

DS14 has a Notre Dame room. It isn't quite this elaborate but his walls are white, he has a stripe each of navy, green and gold around the top part of the walls. His bedding was from Target online and is "official" Notre Dame bedding (and a valance for his window). He has a Notre Dame pennant and "Play Like a CHampion" plaque over his doorway that we bought from the ND bookstore online. He has hopes of attending ND for college (it also helps that our school colors and mascot are the same as ND :thumbsup2).

My ds has always had Sports rooms...

When he was younger, I put all his pics from each sport in an 8x10 frame and used them as a top around the top of one wall.

We used a hockey stick as a curtain rod.

He has had inexpensive different comfortors all sprts themed.

When he decided to be a Univ of Cinti Fan, I painted the walls grey, bought the official bedding. I ordered (mostly from Ebay) several LARGE flags and hung them on the walls. We bought the lightswitch covers and other things as we saw them.

Now he wants to make an American Flag from a bunch of Baseballs or maybe golfballs. They have the Baseball one at Red Robin!

Good Luck and have fun.

Very, very nice....

Ambitious boy......he should definitely go for it! I don't know if you've ever been, but it is just so special there. My cousin attends ND.

I have not met my future husband, yet, but I don't know what I am going to do if he is not an ND fan. Everyone in my immediate family are ND fans. All of my uncles and aunts and cousins are ND fans. Most of my friends, and all of my close friends are ND fans. Yes, we're Catholic.

I have pics of my sons touching and standing in front of the "play like a champion today" plaque, along with pics of them with Charlie Weis. If you can swing it, they do a football camp and at his age he can stay on campus for it. A lot of the players and the coaching staff are there for it. I believe the last day is for parents and they do a mini-tour and you can take the pics then. If you have a younger one, they offer a day camp for children up to 5th or 6th grade for 3 days I think, might be 4. It's about $125 for that, still run by the players & coaches, still get the tour.

My youngest son has the bedding and comforter from Penneys. They no longer carry it in the stores but it can be ordered online.

You do not get to go on the field, that is as close as they will allow you.

Almost every male in my family has a sport's themed office. My cousin's husband has an NC Wolfpack room where the walls are red with a black stripe and huge painting (that he hand drew!) of the mascot.

In another family member's house, there is a WV Mountaineer themed room with blue and gold walls and pictures from memorable games/magazines/the stadium.

My daddy turned our garage into a UF Gator themed room with blue, orange, and Gators everywhere!!

IMO, these are fun rooms that just add to your house. Plus, it's so fun to watch games in the Gator Garage!

My DS's room is done in a St. Louis Cardinals theme. I have a picture of it from one angle that I'll try to post. The thing I love about it is that it's so easy to find things to add to and update his room with.

My Grandpa always said that the football season was over as soon as ND lost their first game (it would have been a short season for him this year :lmao:). We call ND the Catholic Disneyland :lmao:.

Funny you should assume he wants to go their for football. DS14 is 100 lbs soaking wet with weights in his pockets-he turns sideways and disappears. He wanted to play basketball for them but doesn't any longer. He just wants to go there. We have some very good friends that are ND grads!

Maybe we got his bedding from Penney's. I can't remember now.

I didn't assume he wanted to play football, but that is where the "play like a champion today" plaque is though. I always thought that was the most memorable pic of I have of my kids when they did the camp. I didn't know if you would have been interested in doing something like that and was just putting the info out there for that great photo op. Would be a great thing to have framed and put next to his plaque, especially as he sounds to be such a huge ND fan.

We have friends that have graduated there and some that work there now. We almost bought a house a few doors down from Willingham, this was during his last season here. He really ticked off the HOA from what the realtor told us.

Also, two of the skinniest, smallest kids in that bunch are mine. They definitely won't be playing college ball.
